MYSTIC COMICS #4 (1940). Where to begin with this one? Incredibly scarce -- 25 total copies on the census. That's it! Fantastic FDR assassination cover by Alex Schomburg. Stories chock full of cool early Timely heroes, including the *original* Black Widow who was even more of a badass than her contemporary counterpart... intense story featuring Hell/devil scenes and incredible art. Back cover ad for Marvel Mystery #8. Also, this was originally a July issue, but during the press run "AUGUST" was overprinted with silver ink and July was blotted out with a silver rectangle; see spoilers for a pic of the cool effect, plus lots of interior pics.

Condition: I grade this book Awesome... but CGC would grade it .5. It's missing the very last interior page; otherwise complete. Nice glossy cover. Cover detached at bottom staple (pulling at top staple, but hanging on), and there's archival tape inside the cover along a long cover split; very hard to see unless you really look for it. White/OW pages. Rarely for sale in any condition.

That's a brutally tough issue in high grade. I know you guys only want the sweet high grade ones. Is Slightly Brittle a dealbreaker?

Brittle...I can live with that...a dealbreaker for me would be no feet on the cover and less than 18 pouches on any one single character

Ahh, no worries then. It's got a CVA sticker indicating an Exceptional number of pouches.
