So long, Counterpoint comics....

This actually may affect tons of comics due to ebay's definition of what constitutes sex:

Everyone has a different definition of what constitutes “sexually explicit” and eBay’s is extremely PG. While the policy is confusing in that it appears to conflate nudity and sexually explicit content, it carefully defines nudity as “showing any part of male or female genitalia, anus, or female breasts where the areola or nipple is visible.” It goes on to say that those same bits don’t get a pass if they’re covered by see-through material or confined by tight clothing. The policy also classifies “people engaged in sexual contact or activity” as nudity.

It goes on to say “most adult-only items are prohibited” and includes “sexually explicit anime, comics, books, films, animation, manga, hentai, yaoi” as among the things considered adult only.

what about Sally Forth the Hughes covers? I mean if it's slabbed, yet not really nudity on some of the covers but the content would be otherwise

any other grey areas?

besides spelling it gray? :roflmao::foryou::tink:

So no more adult only sections. There were lots of comics listed there.i got lots of good deals,mostly for vigil books.

I'd imagine you can still sell if you block nudity from being seen on the covers.

Still,no more porn on ebay at all now.that has to be a big blow monetarily.

Can they try to make ebay any worse?

They've always been a bit overzealous in policing listings outside their adult category anyway (which was pretty much a graveyard as nothing in it would come up on searches).

I've had Tijuana bibles and underground comix delisted when there was nothing graphic in the title on on the cover image. The same with vintage girlie mags that were no more revealing than Playboys of the era, but from lesser known publishers.

I've seen some very racy things that weren't even under the adult category. I have no idea how they are drawing their lines.

eBay seems to operate on a key word identifier of sorts.  I know this as when I am listing certain things it will say, "It looks like you are listing "x", you may want to list it in this category instead." (or something like that.).

Now, you can push on and list whatever you want.  However, members can report your listing.  Now, I know what some people might say.  "How come when I report an auction on a comic book that is obviously a fraud that they do not take it down?"  What might be an obvious fraud to you is not so obvious to the person in customer service  as they do not have a specialty in comics or know the nuances of how we do things in this hobby.  However, a picture depicting a sexual act is a picture depicting a sexual act.

They gacked the search so you can't find the stuff anyway...

THIS is so messed up.  I can't even run a general Golden Age search anymore.  At least most of my saved searches are still functioning.  It's almost as if feebay is trying to kill itself.

Happened recently when I was trying to sell some Nathan Szerdy covers, you have to manipulate the title in order for them to allow the listing.
