New Art Day - Faux Sugar and Spike #100 Cover by Bill Morrison

 

The first piece of 2021 is the last Christmas present to arrive. Nice way to start the year in my opinion.

 

Bill had some free time since Mad moved to all reprints so this happened and I’m glad it did!

 

As usual, I provided very little art direction and as usual this proved to be a good thing. I suggested crossing over with someone he likes to draw / is associated with. He suggested Maggie. Kathy made it happen. I win!

Happy New Year folks!  Starting my 2021 collecting journey with my favorite Spawn cover with a powerful full-figure Spawn bathed in deep McFarlane inks. McFarlane chose this Spawn #95 for his Classic Cover Spawn action figure and other McFarlane toys-- easy to see why.  Delighted to have a Spawn cover and this one in particular!

A really exciting one for my wife and I! This is the #1 cover to Gotham by Midnight penciled and inked by Ben Templesmith. This is my wife's singularly favorite comic, and it was surreal to find the cover still available on Ben's site 6 years after being published in 2014.

Picked up the Color Proof for Deadman: Dead Again Issue 5 page 5 probably sometime in 2002 I think.  Randomly, 18 years later I stumbled on the matching OA.  It just showed up today.  Definitely was not out looking for it, but now I wonder how many proofs I have I can marry the OA to?  Or Vice Versa I guess.  Nothing like a good 3 stooges eye poke between dead people.

Nope I still have it :).  I just deactivated it and was planning to repost it at a different time but I keep getting sidetracked all day so haven't had a chance to put it back up.  Will have it back up in a few.

No worries, I was just teasing you, only a complete fool would list something here for collection and then let it magically appear on a Dealer Site a few weeks later.
