I inked an image of this Spawn drawing by Julius Dean Abrera a couple years ago and finally got around to buying the OA- Julius also threw in a signed print of his cool Conan drawing. Not only that, but he asked which Star Wars character I'd like for a quick sketch (he knows I dig SW). I chose Emperor Palpatine.

Julius is a great guy, and a hell of an artist!

The JL8 strip, nee Little League, by Yale Stewart takes the primary members of DC's Justice League of America and places them in elementary school as 8 years olds (JL + 8, get it?).

I think the strip is wonderful. Yale has a strong sense of pace and does an excellent job of conveying emotion through his character's body language and subtle expression changes. The dialog is excellent and the jokes are funny. He also handles poignant moments well.

Yale's a beginner just learning his craft with his first real projects coming out now, but JL8 is a strong strong strip well worth your time to read. Trust me!

The two strips that I bought are (click to embiggin and read some commentary):

#124 - Glass Half Full:

#131 - Spin the Bottle:

Read it, you'll be glad you did. He has 73K followers on Facebook and more on Tumbler. Really, you will like it.

Hi all,

My first CAF update of 2014:

http://qurls.com?i=54341

I saw this on EBay and HAD to win it as the listing had two magic words

(or actually three) which are - "Oracle" and "Brett Breeding".

There was quite a bit of an unexpected bidding war on this one,

but victory is sweet (even if the price ended up higher than I had

hoped to spend).

I think Paul Pelletier and my favorite inker, Brett Breeding, did

a bang-up job on this nice pinup of Oracle.

Having Batman in it didn't hurt either...

I'll try to post a better picture (this one distorted and skewed),

once I'll get the art.

As always, comments are welcome and appreciated !

Thanks,

Gal
