I'd wanted a great example of Cordelia from The Magic Order by Olivier Coipel

That was a fun book. Congratulations.

Mike Garland has been the colorist on a number of Nick Pitarra's projects. Add one more to their list. :)

Frazetta Johnny Comet

Frank Frazetta's absolute mastery of pen and ink shines in this early Johnny Comet strip with all three main characters: Johnny (in Frazetta's own likeness), stuntman Ace McCoy and Jean Fargo, Johnny's gorgeous blonde girlfriend. Published Oct 10, 1952.

Thanks! I really love Zaffino's take on the character. On the Thor/Cap one he actually has Iron Man's chest piece and Hulk's shorts too! It was the cover of issue #5, which parodied Avengers #1. That one is a particular favorite of mine and the first I picked up. Here's a better picture of the detail. I especially love how Zaffino depicted the thunder lightning.

At the same time, I bought two small sketches from french artist Joël Jurion featuring Wonder Woman and Catwoman.

Page 58 from the second part of Natalia Batista's epic fantasy Sword Princess Amaltea:

Amal58_small.jpg.43329942d12e850ca0294c55083710dd.jpg

Natalia actually added screentone to the original in the old-fashioned way to make it look more like it was published - normally this is done in the computer. I guess this makes the page something between real original art and recreation...

Two comic strips from the very successful Halge comic about a moose and life in rural Sweden by the late Lars Mortimer. Here a conflict over a hunting pass quickly escalates out of hand and the prime minister wants to call on the UN to solve it:

Lars Mortimer's widow sometimes is kind to collectors and let go of the occasional strip for a reasonable sum if one asks nicely.

Click on the pictures to see larger scans on CAF.
