Double Cover

2 posts in this topic

I recently purchased a Daredevil 196 that has two covers. I'm no expert, but it does not seem like some one did it on purpose. Does this increase the value? If I had it certified, would there be some sort of note indicating there were two covers?

Occasionally books are manufactured with two covers (or more) . These "Double Cover" books are still collectible, with some people even seeking them out just because they are double covers. Most of the time the 1st cover "protects" the interior one. For example, the CGC label will read "Double Cover" and "1st cover 9.4, interior cover 9.6" with the final grade being the higher of the two, in this case 9.6

We have even seen a Quintuple Cover! laugh.gif Hope that helps.
