? on some Milton Caniff originals

1 post in this topic

I have been contacted by someone who may have several Milton Caniff original Sunday pages for sale. Person was a scripter for another long running strip and most of what he told me checks out.

I have two questions I'm hoping to get some answers to

1)obviously would be a ballpark figure of what they may be worth

2)this is what is confusing me-He says two of the strips are hand-painted.That Caniff hand-painted his Sunday strips as oppossed to simple ink dailys? Could this be correct?By "painting",he may mean hand-colored.

I know comics are not colored by the original artists, but would a person doing a one-man strip also doing the Sunday coloring?

Any thoughts will be appreciated.
