Hard to tell by the pic. What is the deal with the upper staple is it ragged there?

 

Maybe 8.5 maybe.

That's the best I can do for this image but I would also give it a 8.0 to 8.5 or VF to VF+

Well I'm glad I was in the ballpark then my grading has gotten better since the advent of CGC. Nice book by the way as I can personally attest to TOS #50 is a hard book to get in high grade. If it's yours have it graded if not buy it

is that top staple detached at all? i'd give it a 7.0 since i know CGC deducts big time for defects like that.

To state that CGC values will never plummet is to admit not understanding a whit about graded collectibles...

 

It's a 100% guaranteed lock, with the only question being exactly when it will happen.
