The next four confirmed that this run of comics was the greatest of all time. All the money and resources of Hollywood at that time couldn’t do what Kirby did. 
Many share my belief that this is the second best story of the Silver Age.

I know you rank ASM 31-33 first. Would you then go FF 48-50, then FF 57-60? Or is there another blockbuster story you’d rank ahead of these?

i'm kinda beholden to my thought processes as a kid for this type of ranking.  said kid felt like he needed to have a best arc for all the titles.  31-33 and 48-50 you nailed.  for x-men, it was the first sentinels arc, and for dd a classic 2-book story with the cobra and mr. hyde, 31 & 32.   there is a 3-books story that jumps from tos [79 & 80] to tta [82] involving a wonderful fight b/w subby and im; it ends up only being a comic and a half worth of story, but it's fabulous!  i never got around to quantifying ff 57-60, as the fave ff arc was already in the bank, but it is a wonderful story!!

I'm getting really close guys.  This one was technically an upgrade, but a huge upgrade.  A raw FF #12 was among the very first Silver Age books I ever bought, 21 years ago.  It graded out to a 6.5.

What's left:  #18, 19, 24, and 32.  I would like to upgrade my #11 from 8.0 to 9.0 or even 9.4, but I know that book is quite tough to find in grade.  Other than that, I'm set.

i mangaged to get the tall geek's undercopy many years ago, and boy i'm happy i did.
