I think this has a chance to catch or even exceed IH181 in term of value. IH181 is plateauing, while this is still climbing.

Wolverine is much more popular than BP, but FF52 is far more rare than IH181

Agreed, the 12 is earlier and Ayers cover inks with Kirby Pencils are more appealing to me than the 25 Kirby/George Roussos-Bell. Although the 12 cover isn’t a full battle scene, the pending battle poses are still awesome to me.  The story is much better in 25-26, however.

Bought this raw from Pacific Comic Exchange back in May 1999, when they first began marketing and listing online the original owner collection that became known as the Pacific Coast pedigree.  One of my favorite early SA Marvel Kirby covers.  

It was graded VF++ and cost $900 (great to be a collector in the days before CGC).  A single tiny Marvel chip along the right edge kept it from the higher grades that were routine with this collection.  It wasn't pressed until after I sold it, as you can tell from the very slight overhang bends along the top of the front cover, and the lack of interior pages sticking out beyond the cover.

Here is my FF #12. Looks 9.4 from the front cover but a small tear on lower left of back cover brings it down to 7.5. I wish I could buy more 7.5's like this
