Western Missouri Collection - New 3,000 Book Original Owner Collection Found

In a small Missouri town, 90 miles southeast of Kansas City, two young brothers began collecting comic books in 1958. Buying from the Rexall Drug Store, one boy bought Marvels, the other boy bought DCs, and for the next 30 years they bought and bought, and traded back and forth from each other, thereby creating the Western Missouri collection.

 

This amazing collection amassed approximately 3,000 books, 90% bought off the rack by their original owners. The majority of this very affordable collection averages in the Fine range, with a range from Good to Very Fine +.

 

The collection is loaded with Silver and Bronze Age keys, including Action 252, Amazing Spider-Man 4, 5, and 14 Adventure 260, Brave and the Bold 28, Daredevil 1, Fantastic Four 4, Green Lantern 76, House of Secrets 174, House of Secrets 92, Journey into Mystery 83, Justice League of America 1, Showcase 22, Strange Tales 110, Tales of Suspense 39, and X-Men 94.

 

Marvel runs include (with some occasional breaks) ASM #4-100, Avengers #3-200, Daredevil #1-150, Hulk #2-6, JIM #81-125, Strange Tales #101-170, Tales of Suspense #39-70, X-Men #3-66, 94-95. DC titles include everything you can think of during the years in question. There are also ECs, Charltons, some Golden books and a significant numbers of rare Underground and Fanzine titles from the early 1960s - 1970s.

 

The collection was discovered and obtained (through a consignment arrangement) by EsquireComics and The Flying Donut Trading Company. They are being offered here first to our fellow forumites, and ultimately all will be available through eBay under the ids: EsquireComics or Flying-Donut.

 

The first books offered will be GA and the DC SAs. The Marvels and Undergrounds/Fanzines will follow afterwards. No books have been manipulated.

 

Shipping is $5 for for up to 5 books within the United States, $10 for overseas. First takeit.gif gets the book. We strongly prefer Paypal. PM either of us if you have any questions. Books are coming up.
