Dumping about 50,000 comic bags... all different sizes...

83 posts in this topic

Title says most all, but that got you here, so perhaps I should elaborate...

A couple years back I went in with another dealer on a large order of bags from Charles Abar with the intention of either selling them at local cons (since our local retailers are charging $5.00plus for a pack now) or selling them to local retailers... Either way, a variety of things got in the way... Not long ago, I contacted Charles to get more supply so I could do a more serious attempt now that circumstances are smoother. Well, they got smoother for me and rougher for Charles, and he no longer has additional supply...

So, rather than take the time to build a clientele, then have no bags to continue supplying them, I decided to blow out what I have in one swell foop. I contacted a couple of Charles' former customers (that he had directed me to) but there were no takers, so now they are here as a board-only offer...

One major caveat. 893naughty-thumb.gif I am leaving for SoCal on Sunday morning and will be gone a week. I'll be in Anaheim for three days, then in San Diego for three more (working the National Psychiatric Convention). My laptop is dead and I don't feel like buying another this week, so I will be without computer on the trip. No replies to PMs, and clearly no product will be shipped. Essentially I will be chockful of worthless for a week (which isn't much different from many other weeks). 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

I'll let Mr takeit.gif run free here. PMs will get no replies for a week beginning Sunday, so if you want any of these bags, a takeit.gif is the better approach.

These are "Fun Yet" bags. Anyone on the left coast knows exactly of what I speak. I have both regular and resealable as you will see below.

PRICES INCLUDE DOMESTIC SHIPPING

Yes that's right. These are "delivered" prices.

Am I willing to ship internationally? Of course I am, but let's be realistic. These are awfully heavy (averaging about 500g per pack of 100). A flat-rate Priority Box will hold roughly 8-16 packs depending on size. I can do a box to Canada for an additional $12-15 or so. A box to Europe is around $25 additional. Exact details would need to be worked out, but that's pretty close...

Here's what I got:

(counts are "bag" counts... so 15,000 current means I have 150 packs of 100 each)

Current - 15,000 ... $2.60 per pack of 100

Regular - 4,000 ... $2.75 per pack of 100

Silver - 7,500 ... $2.85 per pack of 100

Silver/Gold - 2,000 ... $2.90 per pack of 100

Gold - 5,000 ... $2.90 per pack of 100

Super Gold - 2,000 ... $3.00 per pack of 100

Magazine - 3,000 ... $3.25 per pack of 100

Thick Magazine - 1,000 ... $3.35 per pack of 100

Postcard - 600 ... $2.00 per pack of 100

Cont Postcard - 800 ... $2.00 per pack of 100

Digest - 300 ... $3.25 per pack of 100

Reseal Current - 6,000 ... $3.50 per pack of 100

Reseal Silver - 2,000 ... $3.60 per pack of 100

Reseal Regular - 500 ... $3.50 per pack of 100

I believe all the reseals are tape on bag rather than tape on flap, but there are some I didn't open, so I can't swear to it...

You are welcome to mix and match as you like. My only request is that you keep a minimum order of 500 bags.

Replies with takeit.gif are most welcome... Replies of graemlins are still quite welcome as they bump the thread... Replies with pictures of unusual birds are also welcome... Replies with recipes for spinach quiche are somewhat welcome... Replies with unintentionally funny quotes from long-dead philosophers will be blog-linked... Replies with descriptions of methods for rectal-cranial inversion will be ignored...

Thanks for looking!

And just some random info... I have personally found that the larger sizes are actually more useful for packing and shipping than even for bagging comics. confused-smiley-013.gif I rarely use the Silver/Gold size on Atom Age stuff, those books are usually in Mylites2. But they are extremely useful in "bricking" books together for shipping to reduce the potential for damage. Donut and I both use the technique of magazine-bagging a book with a cardboard backer to keep it safe. And I have received a bunch of books in lots lately that were bricked, bags and boards and all, that survived crushing box damage without so much as a spine stress...

No one in their right mind really needs 800 bags to put Continental Postcards in... screwy.gif But those bags work perfectly to slide card toploaders in sideways then folded over to keep them protected...

Just some thoughts... If you don't like the thoughts, just wait for my KC con report... That thread will have pictures. cloud9.gif

hi.gif Mr. warehouse dealer shows up! 27_laughing.gif

I better get on the ball and see if I want any before they are gone.

I was trying to leave some and not hog it all... sheesh.

Sometimes, I can go through 5 packs a night just bagging comics that were in bricks.
