My old copy, super glossy and sharp, easily VF if wasn’t for the bug chew.

 

GCE13 also corner bug chew. Both copies from original owner collection.

Rat-chew damage is bad, but for some odd reason the edge disintegration kinda works with this cover.

Rat chews are usually one of my big no no's but every once in a while I might make an exception. Here's a tragedy, but for the price, I gladly snapped it up!

I remember years ago -- either on this board or another board -- some non-collector came by and posted a picture of an Incredible Hulk 1 with something like a two-inch hole chewed completely through the book right in the center.  He asked whether he should just throw it away or bother trying to sell it.  The consensus was that he should try to sell it, which he did.  He got a decent price for it.  Don't ask me to remember how much, but relative to what the book was going for in those days, he did well.

The moral I took from that is that for key books there will almost always be someone who is willing to buy a copy in just about any condition.

There’s a copy of Flight Comics #3 on https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=20474 that had a critter chew on it to the point that a lot of the top-corners are gone.

I can play this game too...  Although I pride myself on all my comics being in Good to Mint condition , the few with chews are a little disconcerting.  Not sure if the Power #3 is an insect chew, rat chew, or shark bite...
