CGC Donates to eBay Sale Benefitting Tony Hawk’s The Skatepark Project

CGC-certified autographed comic books are being offered in a holiday auction to help construct community skateparks in underserved communities.

Certfied Guaranty Company® (CGC®) was thrilled to donate two CGC Signature Series Dark Knight III comic books to a charity auction benefiting The Skatepark Project, formerly known as the Tony Hawk Foundation. Each book is graded CGC 9.4 and signed by the illustrious Klaus Janson and Frank Miller.

Hosted on eBay, The Skatepark Project sale is currently open for bidding and will continue until December 5, 2021. eBay will be matching the total amount raised from the sale, and with The Skatepark Project’s 2021 Matching Campaign, all funds raised will be doubled, now through the end of the year — that means four times the auction total will be donated!

Founded by Tony Hawk, The Skatepark Project (TSP) is a nonprofit organization working to increase access to outdoor recreation and free play through the creation of safe and inclusive community skateparks. TSP provides the resources, advocacy skills, grants and fellowship programs that guide skaters in creating their own community skateparks, from conception through construction. It is a collaborative process between skaters and city authorities to invest in capital improvements that will enrich a community for decades.

The Skatepark Project’s grant programs have awarded over $10 million to help fund nearly 700 public skateparks in all 50 States, enjoyed by an estimated 6 million people annually. The organization’s International Program has provided technical and financial support to assist youth through the Skateistan educational programs in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. To help raise money for future skateparks, The Skatepark Project reached out to CGC Comics with the opportunity to participate in its annual eBay holiday auction.

“We were honored to be contacted by The Skatepark Project to contribute to such a great cause,” said Ashley Habedank, CGC Marketing Manager. “We chose two incredible books that we feel have a generational and universal appeal for collectors of all ages. These books are also special because it is the 35th Anniversary of the Dark Knight Returns and both of these books are signed by two legendary creators that helped create that series! We hope these books bring The Skatepark Project closer to its goal.”

Please use the links below to bid on the books. The starting bid on each is only $50!
