Don't miss your last chance to consign! The November auction will feature high-grade examples of Iron Man's first appearance (Tales of Suspense #39) and the origin of Batman (Detective Comics #33).
Consignments are being accepted until Oct. 8 for Heritage Auctions’ Nov. 21–22 Vintage Comics and Comic Art Signature® Auction in Beverly Hills. The event offers a particularly fine selection of high-grade comics ranging from an 8.0 grade example of Detective Comics #33 — featuring the origin of Batman — to the origin of Iron Man as seen in Tales of Suspense #39, which is one of four known copies graded a stunning 9.6.
Heritage is the world’s largest auctioneer of vintage comic books and original comic art. Auctions feature high-grade examples of classic comics and original art works by icons of the field, including Neal Adams, Frank Miller, Jack Kirby and Charles Schulz. The Nov. 21–22 auction features a number of exceptional original art finds, such as an oil on canvas by Frank Frazetta, inspired by his own “Against The Gods”
and Carl Barks’ original cover art for Uncle Scrooge #43 — one of the very few Barks covers known to exist.
“The last time we held an auction in Beverly Hills, it became the biggest comic auction anyone has ever held, at over $10 million,” said Barry Sandoval, director of operations for comics and comic art at Heritage Auctions, “So we’re understandably excited to go back. Our last sale had a great turnout of lot viewers and floor bidders and we expect the same this time.”
