Attempt in saving an Amazing Spider-man issue.
Last week or so I purchase a cover-less issue of Amazing Spider-man 3 (1st Doc OCt). and before I sent it to get CGC I had a repro cover (inside and out / front and back) attached to said issue. Just curious to see if anyone has done this and what did CGC decided on its' fate? Sorry I have no pic but will update journal upon its return from CGC

Buying superman comics to cope with smallville being over.
I just won on ebay Action Comics 241 at VG. Its the first appearance of the Fortress of Solitude. However I did some digging that it actually appeared in Superman 17 but under the name Secret Chambers or something. Does anyone believe 241 is the first or 17? And which version of the many versions of the Fortress is your favorite. My favorite is the crystal like fortress portrayed in Christopher Reeve Superman and in Tom Welling Smallv

While waiting to fill out my CGC form for the Neal Adams SS on my first Rah's Al Ghul issue, some lucky guy actually had a Batman # 1 (a holy grail comic) signed by Jerry Robinson. How awesome was that. The condition was about G to VG but who cares...It's Batman # 1. After sealing the deal with CGC I went to go see the TX Terminator herself Kristena Loken. What a knock-out!!! When she asked me for my name I went completely blank. And when she stood up I felt really rea
Dan Fogler aka Randy Daytona....uhh how was disneyland?
While at the convention I picked up a book/comic by Dan Fogler called Moon Lake and asked him what it was all about. He said it was like stuff he dreams and imagine about and made a book about it. I was like a celeb like him who did movies like Fanboys, Balls of Fury, Good Luck Chuck and Take me home tonight made a book? After he signed it I took time to read it while waiting to get Neal Adams signature to get a SS for CGC, which he char
Certain celebs are just nice.
went to the big apple spring edition and met Morena Baccarin. She was one of the nicest celebs that I have ever met. She was very kind and sincere even though her show was canceled. She did mention that Whedon is trying to bring back Firefly but no such luck. She said she was all for it!!! She even spent time hanging out with fans while taking photos.

Here is the 1st appearance of the black widow in the catsuit we all love!!! Even Scarlett Johanssen fits it just right. For those who read my first journal entry, I am (4) issues away of completing Amazing Spider-man from 1 to present. The issues missing are # 3 / # 4 / # 12 / # 16 and the infamous Amazing Fantasy # 15. My next run to complete is Uncanny X-men 1 to present, just received my X-men 1 from cgc but it was UK edition but made same time as US version, should i purchase

US v UK
I just received this back from cgc and they found it to be a UK Edition. i really didnt notice it until i saw the price. 9D (is UK money 9 Pence). Someone told me it is the same as US edition because they were both printed the same time. but is there a price standard for UK editions or are they the same?

I answered my own question...
Just minutes from posting my last journal I finally found someone who opened the bag for adventures of superman 500. its the same thing as the normal poly bag but grayish metallic borders. but however it goes, they still got $100 from me...in this pic the owner actually got it signed but cgc does not recognize it if not in their presence

First they get me to buy the Death in Platinum now this?
I just purchasd a Bagged Adventures of Superman 500, Platinum Edition. looks similar to Superman 75 Platinum but w/o the bleeding symbol. I know when i got the 75 plat. cgc the inside was a silver embossed supes symbol compared to the gray flat inner cover. but does anyone know whats inside the 500? either way they got $100 from me. (Picture of superman 500).
De Ja Vu
since the late 80's I've been a fan of McFarlane but after seeing The Haunt's premiere...I'm starting to see a pattern. Haunt's cover reminded me of his artwork during the Spider-man Torment series with the clone-like appearance of Spawn. Dont get me wrong the guy made way for venom and I thought the endgame was pretty cool but my problem with this character is that its too close for comfort. Hopefully the next issues turn out a little better. Speaking of Spawn...does anyone like the
cant wait....
Hi guys. Since March 2008 I've been searching for amazing spider-man issues to complete run from the 1st to now. Back then I was 44 issues short. Now I need 14 more...can't wait to cgc all of them.
Why is this happening?
I noticed that since NY Big Apple Comic Con was bought by Wizard and that for next year's convention is going to conflict with the NY Comic Con. The dates fall on the same weekend. Will one of the conventions change their date?
Quesada and Lee
I saw Jim Lee and Joe Quesada at the Wizard Booth and Got Jim Lee to sign Uncanny X-men# 248 (1st X-men art) and Quesada to sign Amazing Spider-man# 600. Thank god I bought the VIP admission. Because of it I was able to jump in front of the hundreds of people. It was worth the $200.
Go CGC and Joe Simon!!!!
On October 16 at Wizard Big Apple Con and finally got a chance to meet the one and only Captain America Co-Creator Joe Simon at his last convention due to his health at age 96. The man was awesome he took his time signing everything and anything for free. I wished i brought my Captain America 100 or avengers 4 Well i guess its the best i can do and at 9.8. In case you are wondering, that is the Capt America 601 Variant Djurvedic...did i get his name righ?
yay cant wait
From Amazing Spider-man 1 to present i am missing 44 issues and out of the entire collection i have 101 cgc. It took two generations and a whole lot of money but it's worth it. In a couple of weeks i'll be taking my family to the NY Comic Con in Javitts and hope to narrow my missing issues to half. What's even cool, Stan "The Man" Lee is going to be there. Last year it was impossible to get his signature but hoping to get it this year even if it does cost 200 to get his signature
another example of df and cgc
Here is a DF variant unsigned until i personally got it signed and witnessed by cgc by John Romita JR. It was cheaper to get it done this way and getting the SS label.
df signings no good to cgc
Have a dynamic forces with John Romita Jr signature, purchased and authenticated with certificate by the company but when CGC it gets Qualified label with description writing on cover and numbered. If you are a SS collector, dont buy Dynamic Forces special covers already signed.
