Original Art by Jerry deCaire
Jerry deCaire came to my school a couple weeks ago to do his presentation to the students about how mathematics applies to comic art. He also did a bunch of drawings for them. Being a big comic geek, I spent some time with him talking about the trade and expressed my interest in him doing a drawing for me to frame in my office. He took my ideas of a fight between Mr. Fixit and Wolverine with him and today, his artwork arrived. I am very pleased.
Last Issue of 1962 Series
I got a cool bonus at work this year in the form of a Visa gift card. So, I bought this guy. GD/VG condition with OW/W pages and Steve Ditko cover and interior art. I now have 5/6. Until a decently-priced #5 in 4.0 - 3.0 condition comes along...
I went to C2E2 in Chicago this weekend and almost didn't buy a single comic book, until I spotted this gem.
My collection of DC B-List Characters first appearances:
Have:
Showcase #73 - 1st Creeper CGC 9.0
Demon #1 - 1st Etrigan CGC 9.0
Blue Beetle #1 (1967) - 1st Question CGC 9.4
Still Want:
Brave and the Bold #57 - 1st Metamorpho
Mister Miracle #1 - 1st Mister Miracle
A simple yes or no would have been enough
So, I was browsing some members' registry sets and saw a collection that had a book I wouldn't have minded added to my collection, so I messaged the owner and asked them if they might be interested in selling the book. It never hurts to ask, right?
Instead, I get some long winded response about how this book has sentimental value to the collector (which is fine), yet they would be willing to part with it for 80% more than what the last recorded sale
"They Call Me Mr. Fixit" - Issues #324-379
A little more than a year ago, I set out to get CGC 9.8 copies of Incredible Hulk issues 324-379. (All issues in the series with the Gray Hulk)
I am pleased to announce that with the help of RockMyAmadeus, I now have the last two issues I needed. (#343 and #369)
If you get a chance, go check out the set in the registry, with scans and descriptions -
