  2. With 5 days left, the current bid is $1455.00. With this type of a result, maybe more Shadowhawk pages will surface at auction. That would be fantastic!
  3. I’ve never heard of the “Pacole Collection”. Is this a new one? Also this was used as an illustration in Seduction of the Innocent as noted on my humble Al Williamson copy above. I wasn’t aware that it was also used in Parade of Pleasure. I might be wrong and it could be used in both. Overstreet lists it as SOTI but not POP. You might be sending this in for another reholder. @SOTIcollector
  4. My favourite cover of the run, and what a copy. That book will sell itself, no doubt.
  5. A new LCS opened up. This was maybe 1981. On their walls were about 50 pages of Kirby Forever People and New Gods Original Art. $50 each which was a lot of money to me at the time. The good news is I bought one, the bad news is I bought one. That's easily my biggest BA regret, not putting on my big bronze boy pants and buying them all. I still have the page and love it. Kirby's artwork for DC at that time was beautiful and I would suggest as beautiful as his work for Marvel in the 1960s
  6. They don't "authenticate sketches", and that's all we've been able to determine. Something about the sketch disrupting the grade of the book now affects the label determination, and regardless of the other things that are authenticated yay or nay, but which also affect the label. Somehow the sketches that aren't up for authentication can still affect label designation depending on if the sketch affects the book: (grade, condition, or other) criteria but those effects aren't laid out yet
  7. Queen's Comics & Collectibles was where I bought some of my earliest Justice League comics including #3. Comics Unlimited on Keewatin Avenue just east of Yonge, Dragon Lady and Silver Snail were the other comic shops I patronized in the late 1970's. Queen's Comics and Comics Unlimited also had cards. Bakka Books was in the Yellow Pages under comics but by 1979 they stocked just about zilch comics. Certainly their Yonge Street location had none. Trying to find any of the titles/issues I most wanted though was like pulling teeth. As a result I thought Toronto was just a backwater for comics and I needed to go to Detroit, Buffalo or New York to find the comics I saw listed in Overstreet.
  8. peds available for all of them. as to the make-up of them, just so happen to have a li’l list on my phone… also forgot that 3 of my silver annuals aren’t peds—total non-peds is 17.
  9. Dumb question...I can see JSA authenticating signatures, but what the heck do they do with sketches?
  10. I print my interior signed pages out on newsprint before slabbing and keep it in the bag. It's pretty much identical to the real thing, and looks so much better than a photo.
  11. I have seen that the discount can't be applied towards in-house signing fees for signature series.
  12. Spook 24 CGC 9.2 ow/white. This book is from an original owner collection and exhibits deep colors and gloss with an excellent wrap. No sale above 7.0 on GPA in the past 10 years. Asking $10,950
  13. This is probably the biggest offering of Schulz artwork in a few years
  14. Hello, One book today and it’s a beauty. First in the thread wins the book over any PM negotiations. I accept personal checks and PayPal. Shipping in the US is included in the price. No return on CGC graded books please. Thanks for looking. Ken
  15. Hard to believe that is over a decade ago now. The last thing I saw him in was the Billions final season last year.
  16. Read it last night. It’s not a mystery. The story isn’t what I would call “gripping” but it is some very dark Simpson’s stuff. Pretty cool
  17. Update on reholders! So the 1 I had submitted with ComicLink that was received on 3/27 was now complete this morning. The image is uploaded on the site so it will likely ship out today. It took 6 weeks and 2 days which is odd for a high value reholder (mine took 2 weeks exact from being received on 4/3). Now about an hour ago my regular reholders have entered the Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging phase and they too were received on 4/3. Those might be done today, if not probably Monday. Reholders don't tend to stay long in that phase, they go quick same day or into the next day then shipped. So regular reholders it seems is about 5.5-6 weeks. I'm assuming that high value one was put in the regular piles lol.
  18. What does this mean? JSA does not authenticate aftermarket sketches. If the autograph is authentic, and it is determined that the sketch will negatively impact the overall grade of the comic, the comic will receive a CGC Qualified green label. Alternatively, if it is determined that the sketch will not negatively impact the grade of the comic, the comic will receive the CGC x JSA Authentic Autograph label. If the autograph is not genuine, the comic will receive the CGC Universal blue label. In all scenarios, the label text and grader notes will indicate the outcome of JSA’s evaluation and state that a sketch is present on the comic. I guess I have to wait and see qualified samples to know. Ugh.
  19. I don't even have a What-Not account, so I obviously haven't bought anything, but I will say that Greg (and Austin now) Reece is one of the best Dealers to buy from. I've bought a lot from those guys over the years at Motor City and Chicago. Like Dale Roberts and Superworld, some of my must stops at shows. You can buy with confidence from those guys...
