  1. Your lack of response to these incredibly rare comics is disappointing, and you've made my children cry.
  2. Amazing Spider-Man #361 9.4 Signed by Mark Bagley $200 I have nothing interesting to say about this comic. We've all seen it plenty of times.
  3. Amazing Spider-Man #300 5.5 Newsstand Signed by Todd McFarlane $550 I have no clue if this has been pressed -- it was signed in August 2017.
  4. Amazing Spider-Man #263 9.4 Signed by John Beatty, Tom DeFalco, and Joe Rubenstein. Don't know why John Beatty signed it, but you do you. A 9.4 Blue just sold for $31. Three signatures brings this to at least $100, no? $100
  5. Three comics so exciting, I'm trembling just typing out this listing. Payment through PayPal G&S; cash if you're in the Philly area and want to meet up. Shipping is $10 for medium box Priority Mail. Will ship international for exact cost. Insurance is extra. Returns within 30 days.
  6. I have said many times that it is the promoter's job to get people through the door; it's my job to get them to buy my stuff. Sometimes, the two don't mix. For example, I did a show in Grand Rapids about 7 years ago that got 20k+ attendance for three days. I made about $2k total; many dealers didn't make table. The promoter got people through the door, but they weren't buying what I had. The best shows are the ones where the MANY people want EVERYTHING I have, but those are few and far between. In a real world, you hope about 15-25% of the attendees buy something from you and you go home with loose and empty boxes. I heard from several dealers who did Baltimore, and they all said what many had repeated here: not as much money in the room (expected), many dealers not adjusting their prices to match reality (a shame because they didn't sell), and a little bit of concern about which way prices are going to go (back up, further down, or stagnate).
  7. Another great show! I brought 16 boxes of dollar books and sold them by 9:30 AM! My day was done before it even started!
  8. This is a down market if you're comparing it to late-2020/2021. But it is way up compared with any other time. 90-day average on the #27 is $4100. If you take the covid-craziness out of the picture, that average is still higher than any other sale in GPA before covid. In fact, the last pre-covid sale for that book in January 2020 was for $2000. The latest sale was $3600! So this is not a down market at all -- it is a very strong market that just isn't insane. (And insanity was never good for the hobby or sustainable.)
  9. I'm not going to Baltimore. I bought a new house and am moving this weekend. No matter how wonderful she is, I don't think I can convince my wife to be away for a day or two.
  10. I know that most promo comics have very little value, but I love collecting them. The problem is that there are just so many, and the vast majority aren't in the Overstreet promo section. Is there a go-to collector on here that is the giveaway guru? I need to know if there was a second issue of the Swivax Story (about a pig vaccine).
  11. Last time out I brought 26 long boxes of dollar books and I came home with only 8.... so I had a great day! But enough about me... Sure, it's just one week after Baltimore, but why pay those big convention prices when you can pay just slightly under those prices and not have to be hit in the back by someone's Hawkman wings! And you never know what is going to show up in this room. (And if you buy enough from me, I can get that beautiful Astro Boy #1 that Gene has....) Mask rules within the county are always in flux, so I'd bring one just in case. No early birds! Admission is $4 and parking is free. Door prizes are back, so you can win $25 con cash every hour! Clarion hotel 76 Industrial Highway Essington, PA 19029 IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, POST THEM HERE AND HOPEFULLY I CAN ANSWER (or I'll ask Derek). https://philadelphiacomic-con.com/

  13. The summer's over. Maybe there's a bit of chilliness in the morning air. The birds start their long trek south. You know what that means? Well, the same as the rest of the year: it's comic buying time! I'll be here at yet another exciting Philadelphia comic show with about 40 longs of $1 and $2 books from a few new collections, and while I picked through them, I'm sure I missed a lot of great books that you can wave in my face and say, "$1? This is going for $4.50 on eBay!" There will be other dealers too. Mask rules within the county are always in flux, so I'd bring one just in case. No early birds! Admission is $4 and parking is free. Door prizes are back, so you can win $25 con cash every hour! 14. I'll be there with my largest set-up at any show -- 50+ long boxes! I already am dreading packing up on Sunday...
  15. I've often said that there's nothing better than a large group of comic collectors coming into an enclosed space during a heat wave. (Chef's kiss!) Young RC Comics will be there again as I'll be up in Connecticut, but if that information doesn't bring you to this show, just think of all the other great dealers setting up! Mask rules within the county are always in flux, so I'd bring one just in case. No early birds! Admission is $4 and parking is free. Door prizes are back, so you can win $25 con cash every hour! 16. Well, as the last show happened the same day as the Philly Fan Expo, I had to send young RC to the show to man our booth. He did a terrific job, and I hope some of you were able to get some goodies for just $1. This time, I'll be back with some different things. But don't just come for me! Come for the other great dealers who are there solely to make your comic book dreams come true! I'm not sure of the mask rules, but I'd bring one just in case. You know how these rules change daily with the local/regional authorities as well as the hotel. No early birds! Admission is $4 and parking is free. Door prizes are back, so you can win $25 con cash every hour! 17. He was so important artistically, but his legacy should equally be how he tried (and often succeeded) to elevate the creators to match (and exceed) their creations.
  18. Oh and one last reprint set. Spirit (Kitchen Sink) #1-61 + 3-D Classics + John Law Detective All VF/NM and 3-D includes glasses. There were 80-something issues of this, so it's about 75% of the run. $100 shipped in the US. (Will ship internationally, but ask me about the cost.)
