And that little boy grew up to be a CGC moderator! lol

Great stuff Mike. I don't recognise any toys I got in the 1960s in those shots, but I sure remember loving some of the ones I got to destruction.

How do the Australian reprints differ from the American ones?

Quite a few differences. They have paper covers, not glossy cover stock. The page count was lower than American issues, sometimes dramatically so - 24 pages versus 48 or 52 for the WDC&S issues (later 32 v 36 pages). Lots of Australian comics were in B&W inside, including early Disneys. But by the time of this one the Disneys were full colour - and the local editors would go to great lengths to insert a 'u' in 'color' or 'neighbor' in the text!

Great to see someone else posting some Australian GA books in these galleries. It looks like we mostly collect different things, though I have some of the late 1930s Buck Rogers specials.

    Nice collection. Congratulations.

Thank you. It's still growing, though much more slowly than before. I think I'll go for the Shock SuspenStories run, but that might be it. I've never cared for horror or crime books.

It has been a pleasure watching you build a great duck collection.  Your patience has been impressive, better than mine, and I have see you slowly get one beautiful book after another.  I still remember when you got that outstanding copy of Uncle Scrooge #6 which was a great addition.  Keep plugging away at the few remaining issues and you will have one of the nicest sets ever assembled.  Congratulations!

Hi Rich - thanks so much for your nice comments. I suspect there are many finer duck collections than mine, but it being mine is enough for me! I'm still slowly adding to the pile. I have a WDC&S #36 winging across the Pacific, and hope to add another in this weeks Heritage auction (we shall see). Getting the Scrooge issues out to scan has been fun. That was the first vintage set I ever assembled.

This is a really great album. I love these books - I can just imagine Stan and the boys sitting around brainstorming names.

    How about Blagg!

    Or Snaark!

    I know, Florg!!
