  1. I never buy digital content for this specific reason. I'll rent off Amazon or whatever if I want to watch something bad enough but I'll never buy it, all I'd be doing is paying more to access something multiple times through that provider and if they choose to pull it that access is gone. If I want something bad enough to keep I'll buy a physical copy, they're few and far between these days though.

Every time I rewatch that scene, I can't help but think how the heck was he able to stop it after Homelander took off (SB seemed just at the edge of his herogasm release)? Hughie (at least) should have been evaporated.

Yeah I thought Hughie was toast but obviously not. I could only take that as his power needs charging (it's never been instantaneous even in the blackouts) and as it was interrupted it just petered out as it hadn't reached charge. Pretty much like the time I was preparing an almighty fart and my daughter punched me in the gut and I just sucked it back in. Could be wrong though, I haven't really got to grasp with how his power works, just trying to throw some ideas around.

But Hughie really shouldn't have been around still unless the temporary V saved him.

  3. I wasn't overly impressed with it, maybe it didn't help watching it after a belly full of beer early afternoon but beyond it being a vehicle to open up the multiverse in the MCU it failed to deliver. Always good to see Hayley Atwell make an appearance but I was expecting more really.

the show really needs to address this blowout power of his. At times he acts like he doesn't know when he's using it, (I blacked out) (What just happened?), other times he appears to use the power on purpose.

The two blackouts were down to flashbacks to when he was being held by the Russians weren't they? The Herogasm one against T and T definitely was as that song set him off. When he was trying to use it against Homelander it was like he was struggling to bring it out as if he hasn't got much control over it.

  5. That blackout to skip what would have been the best scene in the whole series was ridiculous and completely killed a series I wasn't really enjoying anyway. I get what it was trying to achieve but man what a massive letdown and kop out. I haven't seen F&WS but if it's as bad as Moon Knight I won't bother. I even enjoyed Hawkeye more and that was pretty plop.

I have very fond memories of the show because most of the acting was so well done. For me, good acting can overcome bad writing and vice-versa. There was 1 season that I was kinda bored (S4, IIRC), but otherwise I was always excited to boot up the DVR and watch a few episodes at a time. Gordon, Alfred, Bruce etc were all well-cast and well-written. Thinking about it now, Selina was one of the more annoying characters that I didn't care for one bit.

I'm going to finish Taxi Driver off then start it again I think. I've pretty much run Netflix dry bar Gotham given my new found freedom as a pretty broke single parent so it's got to be time. It'll keep me out of trouble for a couple of weeks anyway.

Banshee used to do that too, with different photo /pics in the opening credits.

Great show Banshee - Anthony Starr was great, but Hoon Lee and Odette Annable turned Banshee into something special.

Great show - hope they do a follow-up as the ending gave them scope to do just that.

The best of Job (Hoon Lee) from Season 1 of Banshee

    NSFW!!

Banshee is up there as one of my favourite TV shows ever, it pulled no punches and was just gripping from start to finish. I hated Anthony Starr in The Boys and loved him in Banshee, just shows what a great actor he is. But yeah Hoon Lee stole Banshee, absolutely first class.
