  1. I can see the similarities between the two. I think a 1st appearance where the character doesn't appear on the cover would be equivalent to maybe a multi-player rookie card, and a 1st appearance with a cover appearance would be equivalent to single player card front rookie card. Modern books with multiple cover variant 1st appearances would be equivalent to modern day sports card rookies with the various different refractors and chase cards.
  2. Sadly, he probably is. Here are some of his recommendations. On 5/9/2024 at 5:41 AM, BA773 said: If you want to make money, here is a list of comics you cant miss > 5. Batman #500, anniversary issue, great cover with silver foil, really valuable for collector! 4. ASM vol.2 #1, what could be best than a new number 1 to make profits? 3. Death of Superman, one of the greatest event in comics history, in the 90s they were all spoke of it trough the media. 2. Cable #1, The debut of a new hero in his own title, with gold foil cover, really popular in the hobby. 1. No hesitation, same argument that Spiderman but here in addition you get an absolutely wonderful art by one of the greatest talent: MR Rob Liefeld. Hope it helped
  3. You do know that "injustice" and "DCeased" are not canon right, and that "deaths" of any major comic book characters are virtually non-existent? There are many well written "death" stories, like the death of Superman by kryptonite in BM: Holy Terror, but that doesn't make it a good investment.
  4. So many great cover, but this is probably my top pick. This would be my second.
  5. This was in the early to mid 1990's at a small show at the Scottish Rite Center in Oakland. A seller, whom I had seen there on a previous show, had a copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 for $100. The book was in horrible shape. I just remember the cover look to have a massive amount of some type of restoration/destruction work done on it. The cover was horrible. I didn't even want to look pass the cover since it just looked disgusting. I tried to talk to down to like $15 or so and he actually did get close to my asking price, but I passed on it. I regretted not buying it afterwards. Some time had passed and I visited a shop in Alameda and in one of their boxes was the same AF#15. I think they had it priced at a couple 100 to $300. I still couldn't get myself to put up any money for the book because honestly it looked like someone just puked a bunch of paint onto the cover and then let it dry. There were chunks on the cover which was how bad it was. Thinking back I should have just bought it for the $20 or so he offered.
  6. 1st app. Isis, 1st app. of Black Adam since GA, and 1st app. Kid Eternity since GA, are a few. "there s absolutely no argue to collect it"...okay...
  7. I hope you're not serious, but considering you're new to the hobby, I fear that you may actually be serious.
  8. Since you asked, I think you need to back off some on your accusations. This seller sells a lot of bulk books and gets pretty good money for it. I think you posted about this seller before and were told the seller was pretty much legit.
  9. I think a detached cover can grade higher than a 1.0. I think this book is in Fair condition. It'll definitely look better with a press.
  10. VF-. There seems to b be some color loss or scuffing on the back cover as well as some spine tics.
  11. A lot of the defects will get pressed out except for the scuffing, but the scuffing is what's holding it back since its pretty noticeable.
