  1. Doesn't get any better than selling to Anthony! He paid quickly on a high dollar book and communicated very well. It was an honor, and I'm very pleased that my book went to such a good home!! Thanks again and enjoy
  2. +1 I have two 61s and I'd grade them if they were 9.8s - they're prob 9.4 and a 9.6 though.
  3. We already had the first prints and weren't obsessive enough to want them? . I don't know, maybe that's just my answer. Also not everyone was speculating/selling. I wasn't buying to sell anything back then - I'm still not, these freshly graded books were my raw collection, bought from spending hours hunting down HG raw back issues. I painstakingly put together that run from when WD was almost as important to me as my kids,
  4. Hey Rich!! Glad you still have it, I loved that one! Still one of my favorite covers.
  5. Have to post my haul in here bc I just can't help myself: 19 - 9.8 27 - 9.4 33 - 9.8 33 - 9.8 33 second print - 9.4 48 - 9.8 Everything graded just as expected so I was happy - I only graded the 27 and 33 #2nd print bc I thought they were special cases. I'll be sending in other 9.8 candidates shortly, these are all books from my raw collection that I bought individually when I was putting together my collection 2-3 years back. I have most of a run from 16 on up, but I'm missing a few here and there - the books range from 9.4 condition to 9.8. I sold any early raw issues back when I sold all of my graded WD books last year (when we bought our new house, for those of you that remember). I'm now having some of my raw collection graded. I'll be selling these too at some point, not sure exactly when though - so don't worry, this isn't me promoting a sales thread. Just wanted to share my happiness at getting the books, and seeing them grade right at what I expected, that's a fun feeling. Cgc was dead on for the grading times too, in case anyone is interested. These were on two invoices - one invoice was fast track modern (10 business days is the stated turn around time, and these shipped on the 11th business day); the other invoice was 15 day free coupon service; they shipped on the 16th business day I believe, although I could be off by one day. All books were received at cgc on 7/30/12, and they were all received back by me either last week (the 10 day service), or today.
  6. I'm glad you brought it up. It is a great example of how I deal with the situation being on the other side of the transaction. I doubt my matters much, but for the record I've both bought and sold to Jeff, and I have found him to be fantastic to deal with. He's one of the most solid guys I've dealt with on these boards, so I'm glad this situation has been resolved. I would never hesitate to transact with him.
  7. don't read the post until you've read the issue. i haven't read it either, but i don't expect anyone to wait for me. Well, I do. I expect everyone to wait for me and to employ the handy, extremely easy to use spoiler function to their hearts' content, since that is what it's there for. I thought this issue just came out - it's not like we're talking about an issue that's 5 years old. Spoiler tags, people! Kathryn, You are certainly not new to this discussion thread and should know better. The whole discussion about spoiler tags comes up all the time. You should know by now there will be spoilers in this thread after a new issue comes out. I always wait until after reading the new issue before clicking on this thread. You're right, I do know better. I was skimming over the posts very lightly when I saw the spoilers so I have only a vague idea of what was said, I didn't get much out of it at all. I know there is always the potential for spoilers in here, so I prepare myself for that. I'm just on a never ending crusade to hide spoilers. There are a lot of people who don't agree with me; there are also a fair amount that do. I don't see it as something that will be resolved but I still like to have my say - just as the people who disagree are quite vocal about having their say. I'm not one of the trade readers, I read every issue - I had thought I was timing my last trip to the comic shop to coincide with the latest WD coming out, but I was a week early. I read the release date wrong or just got mixed up or something.

  9. I read #77 this evening. It definitely took a turn I was not expecting - I'm excited for the next issue. I have to admit I was pretty freaked out until I realized that
  10. I think it's pretty odd myself - just the fact that it's on cardboard, I mean. That's not anything I would be into. As far as Moore's art being personalized, that wouldn't bother me if it was a piece I wanted, but I'm sure that matters to some collectors. Possibly there are some people who would bid higher just knowing it was coming directly from Tony Moore, even if it was drawn on cardboard? And Doug, your Moore sketches are sick. Very nice. 11. Get it shipped to a boardie in the USA and have them ship it to you? (thumbs u
