We would visit our grandfather once a month in Lowell,and he bring us to this old skool bookstore. Harvey sold comics for 7 for a dollar back in the 80s.
No bags and boards,but a lot of reading and good memories.

Cool news, but he is 78 years old. I wonder if his role will be actively involved or just a figurehead to sell the next Star Trek show?

100 percent agree with this. For a decade I have been hearing that comic books were going to fade away, and just about every comic book key with a few exceptions has doubled in price in the last decade.

This cover changed the perception of Wolverine.

Snake Eyes has Wolverine potential. One of the greatest characters ever made. 
 

 

He was GI JOE for me in the 1980s, similar to Wolverine being the X-Men for me.
 

I recommend to all comic book fans to at least read Dune once in their life.
Frank Herbert was a genius ahead of his time.

Really for years Hollywood, mainstream media and the washington crowd has been telling the American people that they must change, when all along they were the ones that had the biases and prejudices.
I love that they are being exposed, and this is only the tip of the iceberg.

After reading the entire thread the prognosis was don`t worry about pressing as these books will outlive us, in other words these books will be in better shape than we will be in 20 to 50 years. this is great news as I am only interested in about getting maybe 10 to 20 books slabbed tops as just about all my reading comics have been burnt to dvd-r`s to read in the future and the 10 to 20 high grade books would be the ones worth getting slabbed. A great intelligent thread,I wish more cgc board members would discuss more intelligent threads like this then the usual did you see the latest superhero movie thread over in general or why don`t the new generation read comics thread. Never realized how some of those critics took personal shots at Snyder. It is one thing to not like his work,but some of their responses were below the belt.
Makes me miss Siskel and Ebert and shows anybody can be a film critic nowadays. 

I would market them as the NFL meets the Marvel Universe. Try to sell this week with SuperBowl hype in full mode. There are a lot of interesting comic books out there that just need a fresh coat of paint to entice people to take another look at them to buy.
#1 had Spider-Man, so I would emphasis Spider-Man and NFL Football in keywords.

I would open the comic up and take a  picture or two.
 

See if anyone buys.

Seemed like Marvel really played a part in getting GI JOE and TRANSFORMERS off the ground, but don't seem to get much credit for it.
