Bought many books and had many dealings on these boards. So many to thank, but just can’t list them all. So these are the 2 I had the most transactions with @crassus @jimjum12 Either of you 2 can claim these for shipping only if interested. Thanks to all, Bill

Ha! Saw that on eBay and cross referenced to MCS site. Was considering it when it disappeared. Sorry it was an error, sure looked like a good deal.

A guy who started one of the longest threads ever went to jail. He was a piece of work. So feel free to rant, the world moves as it will without you.

Transporting 130 short boxes across the country
NP_Gresham replied to jdraheim's topic in Comics General
Yes And I did what you won’t do I rented the truck and did it myself. If you have valuable books, best to do it yourself If you have boxes of mostly middling books. Sell them. If you hire someone, plan on loss/damage/theft. And to over-pay Divide the cost of moving per book. Are the books worth the added cost? -

Couple of recent pick ups. The middle book in the Marvel 3 pack looks like Jungle Action (#17?) As I post this I am seeing an artifact, checked the Avengers and there is no crease

Comics vs cards is like boxing vs Football Cards and the NFL want the product viewed/sold everywhere at every price point. Comics and Boxing want to squeeze every dime at every sale and are very exclusive with Direct sales and pay per view on every unit/ big fight. The exclusivity and maxing out each individual sale over time simply kills the golden goose. Fewer fans give a krap about boxing any more and Comics are circling the drain. Meanwhile the NFL keeps drawing more interest by always having games available on free TV. And cards can be found in all the places comics abandoned years ago.

Madame web first appearance is getting talk on what it is!
NP_Gresham replied to comicwatch's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
So Wolverines first appearance was an ad page in DD #115? So if these fools have money let me sell you some Krap…. Err investment opportunity! I’ll play along, the 35 cent variants printed first, so Godzilla #1 35 cent variant. Send me all your bit coin and it can be yours!!! -
He must have a large swath of employees. How well does he pay them? He gets kudos if he is good employer. But he must be low-balling his graders or paying piecemeal because they suck.

What would happen if a large quantity of a key issue were found?
NP_Gresham replied to Comicdave's topic in Comics General
Census numbers are always difficult. This is probably the #1 CPR book. Most of those 9.0-9.6 books were squeezed out of existence. And the “9.9” is an 8.5 with real soft corners , but it has that ‘dreamy’ 9.9 label. Anyone buying that should just buy a label and a raw VF and save themselves a lot money -

I only knew him from board interactions. We were not always 100% in agreement, but he was always polite and his resolve showed his passion for the hobby. We all will feel the loss as the hobby lost one of its most passionate knowledgable and well spoken advocates

Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...

As far as I am concerned most every book is signed somewhere in the art. Marking it up with a sharpie is not needed imho. Most of the time they are for resale, so it’s not like I waited in line and shook someone’s hand. The exception to me would be a cast signed book. A book signed by the late great ‘sir’ Alec Guinness I would pay extra for. Having “Stan Lee” scribbled in sharpie on the cover would mean no more to me than the printed signature in Stan Lee’s soapbox. In fact I would pay only the ‘qualified price. They are after-all a glorified GLOD.

It doesn’t do anything for me, but I am sure it helps. The only exception would be a ‘single highest grade’ copy. That would seem like an unnecessary redundancy.

What issues in ASM 100-200 are hardest to get in 9.8?
NP_Gresham replied to CONathan's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Nothing ASM bronze js hard to get. If you have the money any book is available in ample supply. If you are really anal and break it down into variants, then you might run into problems. But other than that, this has to be the easiest high grade run in existence -
What about $39.99 for the 5.0! I posted about it last page. Seen a few and had a few that CGC did not mark as ‘price variant’
