  1. Main Street has sold me books missing pages and not noted (we re-negotiated once I let him know but ugh, what a let down once I was home) and he told me if a book comes back with resto tough luck, once it leaves the store end of story. I find the prices on the high end but he is certainly open to dealing. He pays well I think for good collections and has good books. I don't like that he won't tell the grade either, just a price. I bought a large lot of GA from him, he graded them all to sell but then would not share that list of grades with me once I bought them. With all that said, I would likely still go once in a while but my work location changed and it is waaay out of the way for me now. Just a few quirks you have to deal with. There used to be 6 shops I could go to in that area, only the one in Somerville remains other than Main St. IIRC Mike (the owner of Main St) doesn't work Fridays, otherwise he is the one behind the counter. So if you want to deal or bundle, don't go on Friday or call ahead and make sure he is there.
  2. call ahead, I heard building was sold and they are sol besides, I bought all the OO stuff when they first opened! mwahahahahahaha

  7. freakin' ridiculous! thanks for the info cgc, this is weak sauce I have a few in this boat as well these were slabbed to maximize revenue for late friends estate, otherwise I wouldn't even be waiting on them ugh, I'll tell his heirs cgc has some books but no plastic to put them in. I am sure they will understand.
  8. I went for about 90 minutes today; had fun talking with Jae Lee, Buzz, and Kevin Nowlan. Bought a piece Nowlan's been doing slowly for last week or so, spent 30+ minutes talking to him (and Ron Marz a bit beside him), enjoyed making him laugh as he told me about the only artist whose art he collects and why he loves Oksner. Then laughed with Buzz and Jae Lee as well, they both were fine with chatting and no one was there. I truly felt bad for some of the small vendors...I hope they had business yesterday! Walked by Lou Ferrigno and the like, stopped to say "enjoy your work" to actor Mike Starr (character actor, you know him by face if not name) and then left and walked out next to Gates McFadden. Glad I went.
  9. year it was published is irrelevant...you shouldn't have to decode what year a book was published to decide if it is high grade. You are overthinking it. Looking at the book is when you decide the grade, not after consulting a publishing checklist, i.e. to see if it is SA or BA.("Oh, I thought this was published in 1958 but it is 1948, so it is in much better condition that I decided when actually looking at the book. If it had been published in 1938 this book would be minty mint") Look at the book, VF or better is high grade.
  10. isn't it? I have a few pieces up on live auctioneers and the site even puts them all together on one page. https://comicarttracker.com/misc-auctions/2023-06-30 He has really built it into something very useful and simple to navigate.
