Planet posted their late April dates in late August of last year. That gave them 8 months of promo time. If KCCC gives themselves the same lead time we'd be looking at late October or early November. I'm still skeptical based on their history, but I guess we will see.

He'd be a great addition. In other news, I recently learned that we'll be setting up at Planet. Looking forward to it.

I'm not sure anyone gave a particular rat's @ss about TTA #13 more than any other pre-hero TTA prior to the movie, or maybe Groot's addition to the GOTG comic lineup. Prior to that, he wasn't any more important than Grottu, Goom, or Gargantus. Certainly not in Fin Fang Foom's league by any stretch.

Agreed, but maybe not so many in 9.0+. But if you're talking VF range there is no real shortage for the demand that is out there at present.

I've been in the market for a copy of that book for 20+ years. I saw plenty of copies, just not the "right" one so I never pulled the trigger. In hindsight that was a bad call, but I never felt a push to get one because there were enough of them. Groot does have staying power, but I've always thought the prices that this book has been realizing lately are way too high. I could see $20,000 for a 9.2, but the number of players who A) care, and B) have that kind of money for this particular book has to be a fairly small club. Maybe I'm just bitter because a run-of-the-mill pre-hero Marvel I need for my TTA run is over $1000 in Good. I'm used to paying $300-400 for VF- in this timeframe when I hit an auction right.

I got my account snafu resolved yesterday, so I will look to work on this thread again shortly. Plenty of good books left in the meantime, and I am open to offers!

If I was in the market for this book I would have to consider this. Minor glue and CT isn't bad and the eye appeal is great. GLWTS!

No offense taken. I like your shows a lot and am sorry I had to miss this past one. I do agree with the previous post that there are an abundance of shows in the DFW area, and I'm sure vendors will take note of the shows that are profitable for them when planning their schedules in the future.

It is disappointing that comic shows can't seem to attract comic buyers lately. If these shows can't attract customers who spend money with vendors eventually vendors stop buying booths. We'll end up with shows that have entry into a large hall with autograph lines set up and no vendors. That would be unfortunate.

Some are still underwater on booth fees, let alone hotels and all the rest. It's bad news.

It sounds like a bloodbath for the vendors from what I've been hearing.

I was one who opted out of that right side list of threads. It squeezes the threads too much. If people like it they should be able to keep it, but we should be able to opt out like on the old boards.

I have PMed some people I have outstanding transactions with over at the old board. Not sure how long PMs will work there, but until my account gets fixed over here that is my only shot at communicating with customers left flapping in the breeze with the great migration. Some DCUs are marked second print in the indicia, but essentially they are all identical to the first prints other than the DCU logo in the UPC box.

Still planning to resume this thread, but am waiting for my accounts to be merged (and hopefully some interface stuff to be worked out).
