    I think one thing that should be done is separating the actual facts and people involved in a dispute form those with one liners and memes.

     

    This could clear up all the confusion on the issues and allow people to actually form an opinion based on the facts.

     

    I see all these negative comments on my character, but what were talking about here... as far as I have seen... is three things, one of which (ramos sketches) I explained and came to a full understanding about a long time ago and which had nothing to do with the boards.

     

    The other is an opp, which some people involved in have posted saying I took too long or am not updating people.... I ask again, is it good for CGC to call out creators. Stay tuned because I will be checking with Angel about that quote posted in the Sig room.

     

    The third was a refund or replacement book, and I think we covered that. I was not told from June till December that the book is still missing as soon as I did I sent a refund.

     

    What is flaky... what makes me everything else I have been called?

     

    I have a problem with less than 1% of books I handle... I think that is a pretty good rate.

    I don't "need" anything from him. Although, seeing how I'm not the only one that thinks he shouldn't be on the HOS, a "thanks for the support" would be nice.

     

    I commented yesterday but any real consideration of the facts seems to go by the wayside.

    No not hearsey what I know is from my conversations with Mike B a year ago when Menace screwed me. Menace also was added to the probie list last May by me. After a long apology Email from him about his family business blah blah blah. I felt bad and request the mods delete my flamming. I'm sure there are some from the ss room than can recall this and back me. Dscott I am sure remembers he helped with the situation.

    Yes, a blind poll. Colour me unimpressed. Take a poll in moderns on whether the latest TV rumour will be a smash hit. People love to pile on.

     

     

    Here is what I see.

     

    Menace took on way too much. I called this the day he joined the boards. For those who wish to research I believe I posted this when he offered multiple opps in the 1st week he joined the boards.

     

    So he is now drowning in a pile of commitments and I'll bet he is so overwhelmed that he has no idea what to do next. I'll also bet that he is not organized enough to even have an idea of the full list to be completed.

     

    So, as a community we can step on the head of the drowning man or help him out of the water. All I see here is inexperience and not a desire to rip anyone off. Someone asked if holding a buyer's money for 5 months is ripping someone off. No it is not. He was refunded.

     

    So long as Menace has a desire and we see an attempt to clear things up then he belongs on the probation list. When all those with an issue decide to write off their time and money then we can all say a collective you and put him in the HOS.

     

    Doug Scott offered to help with one issue and there are a few of us that can help with the other opps if need be.

     

    I completely understand that some feel disrespected, used, played or lied to but when we don't take intention into account and only the results then who does that leave willing to try?

     

    Signature Series and sketch opps can become overwhelming very fast. I probably have more experience than the average submitter and I severely limit the quantity and control who I allow to submit through me. This was learned over time.

     

    Is this just a really long winded way of saying "Burn the Witch?" If not, expect it to fall on deaf ears.

     

    I think we can agree on the odds of anything calming the mob but I thought it was worth a try. The HOS is quickly becoming useless as well. I stopped using the "No HoS or Probies" in my sales threads. Although the list of boardies I will not accept any SS subs from has grown tremendously. lol

     

    In the SS forum, Menace said he never received my email. PM me your email and I can forward you his response to my email. Its not just about getting my refund. I am not going to let him bash me by saying he did not get my emails. He is showing no remorse and needs to man up and tell the truth for once.

     

    So I am still waiting for this communication to be produced... was this a lie? Who needs to man up and tell the truth here?

    I guess I did, was the point that I need to use PM's cause I get that is what your opinion is on it.

     

     

    If you got it, you wouldn't have posted this, Jake:

     

    I think we went over this, I post my personal cell phone number, my email, my address. I am not hard to reach.

    The onus is on you to communicate with your clients - whether they be participants in a sketch opp or buyers from one of your sales threads. You're the one responsible for keeping them informed of delays, mishaps, etc - they shouldn't have to track you down outside of the boards for an opportunity you posted here.

    I posted our outside communication in this case. I was under the impression I SENT THE BOOK.What else can I say or do. Its a mistake. I talk to most of my customers on Facebook and email and the boards. But asking that business be done through email from now on its not a huge burden of a thing to ask.

     

    I am not soliciting for a bunch of sketch opps or whatever and ignoring something that is a problem.

     

    I have done a single... just one mail away opp this year. It did no go quickly, what else can I say or do here?

    My point is I have always been available and very quick to take care of any issues that have arisen.

     

    I do my best that is all I can do.

     

    If there was some issue here that was ongoing, that I would not or could not fix then I would agree we have something left here to talk about. As of now I have quickly taken care of any outstanding issues or problems with the books in question.

     

    Is the rest of this just entertainment for you because I don't see much new here or of much substance.

    At the end of the day, and this goes for everyone, if you are going to conduct business here you have to be "present".

     

    You can't solicit things for sale or set up opportunities and disappear for what appears to be weeks or months at a time and this seems to be what is upsetting people. At least pop in from now and then and give people updates so they know what's going on. It takes little effort to do this. Just a post from time to time in the original sales thread or op solicit thread.

     

    I personally understand how difficult it can be to keep track of PM messages but it has to be done. People are giving you money to complete a transaction. It may be a small amount, it may be a large amount, but everyone should be treated equally and with the same respect you would expect if you were the buyer.

     

    You may not be aware but this kind of stuff effects everyone on the boards and their ability to conduct business here, especially the others setting up Ops with other creators.

    If you check out my recent and I say recent over like 6 months or so I have facilitated one event publicly. I have a single and problematic opp which is on its way to being completed. I do books for my friends now, and honestly have no time to publicly facilitate. I own a growing art studio, do my own opps, I work for other conventions and now it looks like I am putting on two or three of my own conventions this year.

     

    All this talk about I need to slow down etc is after the fact. I have slowed down a lot on taking subs and only do it in general by request of the show or a customer.

    I can't figure out what y'all are arguing about...

     

    He posted a facebook chat about the book he never sent me for 5 months or refund. But he edited it. Why would you edit it??? Unless you have things to hide.

     

    What do I have to hide? I don't want to throw blame on creators or CGC publicly.

     

    The book was mislabeled.. Did I mislabel it? I edited bad words and two remarks about CGC, not really remarks, I responded to a conversation about something we perceived to be off and said 'wtf cgc'

     

     

    Seriously... why not focus on the fact you never mentioned that I did not send your book? This is turning into a joke... where people are deflecting the core issues with stupid remarks and nonsense.

    I feel bad about not sending the book to John, but as you will see by our Facebook log which I will put here in full (well I hope I edited any bad words or remarks) I indicated I sent 'a package' which I thought included the replacement book. 6-5 I heard about it, 6-22 the book is sent to me, I indicate I will pack it and send it to John, along with what I believe was other books I needed to send to him. 7-26 we talk again, general chatter, I ask John about something on his Facebook page for something I am writing. I indicate I am yet again shipping things out but no mention that the replacement book has not arrived yet. 7-26 John asks me if I got his book back but doesn't ask if I sent his yet. So I have no idea at this point I did not send it yet. 9-2 and 9-3 we talk after he is at Dragon Con and he never mentions the book is missing.

     

    I understand I dropped the ball by not getting the book out, I am however very easy to reach by phone, email or Facebook. I find PM's to be a VERY bad way to organize things and that led to some of these very delays in shipping that I as well as everyone else would like to avoid.

    What does me saying 'damn cgc' or 'wtf cgc' have anything to do with the substance of the issue? Yes I removed those comments out of respect for CGC being as this is their house. And the issue at hand, being that I did not send you the book AFTER the fact, that doesn't have any fault of CGC right? So what did I censor that was of any substance to the issue?

     

    Did I mislabel the book? No.. is it fair to have a certain level of frustration about the wrong label being on there sure.

    However, since he solicited the sales and opportunities on this board, he probably shouldn't be upset that people are using the boards as the primary means of contact for him. If he started it here, he should organize it and complete it here. I understand that other means might be more convenient for him but it should be about what his customers expect and what works for them.

     

    Changing the venue, midstream, seems to have caused more problems than it solved in terms of communication.

     

    I did not change venue, I just simply can not keep track of things via PM. If people would use a single PM thread for all the info like I tried to make for each customer it would be great. But it didnt work, I would have 10 pms from one person over the time it would take to get one set of books back and then we had moved on to 5 months of other submissions. This got confusing so I asked to be reached by email from now on. I know for a fact other board facilitators ask for communication by email.

     

    I hear a lot about how I did not communicate here on the boards, but that is what was causing issues for me. So I chose not to use PM's as a business route.

     

     

    Maybe I was unclear. When you solicit business on the boards you have to be prepared to communicate with people on the boards. Even if it's not as efficient, even if it's not working well, you can't let PM's from customers go because they didn't email you or call you.

     

    It's great to come up with a system that works for you, but if you run a thread for business here you are going to have to expect that people will be contacting you here and will need to be answered here regardless of your preference. When that doesn't occur this is what happens. That's all.

     

     

    Fair enough. However, is it ok to start out that way now? IE. if I post something here to require communication by email in the future?

     

    It might not be a popular way of doing things 'here' but I know that other facilitators who post here don't use board Pm's for some similar reasoning.

     

    Or isn't there a way where I can get my Pm's routed to my email that way I have a searchable and sortable set of communications?

    Not to take away from what appears as a real issue by bigboytoys but I have been away from the boards and I think that is being taken advantage of by some people because they think I won't be here to reply.

     

    First off, ugh why am I doing this lol

     

     

    TheMightyJohn your again lying directly, please produce the email you say I wrote. You harrassed Tony Daniel to the point that he had to send you your cover directly. I did my best in your instance and yet you lied, without any time given for a refund, and yet when you posted your attempt at a nomination I replied to your post with your full name Arron Lewis and you freaked out about posting your personal information.

     

    If I am not mistaken, other people had to go to Tony Daniel directly to get their books as well. I know Adonis had to contact Tony directly to get his sketch done.

     

    You are mistaken, Tony had a couple covers to finish, of which he had one or two done, and was completing the rest. These were books taken home after a comic con mind you, I likely asked each person if they wanted to cancel when he didn't complete them at the show.

     

    I like Tony, hes a nice guy, but he dropped the ball. This is not even the first time he dropped the ball on the boards, ie. a comic shop signing in Florida a couple year ago. Adonis had wanted to submit his book through his own account and I guess he ended up doing so because Tony was messaging everyone to let them know where he was in the process.

     

    The final cover, just got finished a month ago. I have been on him to finish the sketch for quite some time and so has the person who commissioned it (I didnt have anything to do with setting this one up just getting it CGC'd).

    Now, is there anyway to stop the silly HOS vote? Possibly being a month late on a sketch opp and having one mixup with a book is hardly HOS material. For those voting admission maybe you can start a deal with a current member of the HOS and see what being ripped off really feels like. (thumbs u

     

     

    It does look like he's working it out. That's a very good thing.

     

    However, since he solicited the sales and opportunities on this board, he probably shouldn't be upset that people are using the boards as the primary means of contact for him. If he started it here, he should organize it and complete it here. I understand that other means might be more convenient for him but it should be about what his customers expect and what works for them.

     

    Changing the venue, midstream, seems to have caused more problems than it solved in terms of communication.

     

    I did not change venue, I just simply can not keep track of things via PM. If people would use a single PM thread for all the info like I tried to make for each customer it would be great. But it didnt work, I would have 10 pms from one person over the time it would take to get one set of books back and then we had moved on to 5 months of other submissions. This got confusing so I asked to be reached by email from now on. I know for a fact other board facilitators ask for communication by email.

     

    I hear a lot about how I did not communicate here on the boards, but that is what was causing issues for me. So I chose not to use PM's as a business route.

    Yes, a blind poll. Colour me unimpressed. Take a poll in moderns on whether the latest TV rumour will be a smash hit. People love to pile on.

     

     

    Here is what I see.

     

    Menace took on way too much. I called this the day he joined the boards. For those who wish to research I believe I posted this when he offered multiple opps in the 1st week he joined the boards.

     

    So he is now drowning in a pile of commitments and I'll bet he is so overwhelmed that he has no idea what to do next. I'll also bet that he is not organized enough to even have an idea of the full list to be completed.

     

    So, as a community we can step on the head of the drowning man or help him out of the water. All I see here is inexperience and not a desire to rip anyone off. Someone asked if holding a buyer's money for 5 months is ripping someone off. No it is not. He was refunded.

     

    So long as Menace has a desire and we see an attempt to clear things up then he belongs on the probation list. When all those with an issue decide to write off their time and money then we can all say a collective you and put him in the HOS.

     

    Doug Scott offered to help with one issue and there are a few of us that can help with the other opps if need be.

     

    I completely understand that some feel disrespected, used, played or lied to but when we don't take intention into account and only the results then who does that leave willing to try?

     

    Signature Series and sketch opps can become overwhelming very fast. I probably have more experience than the average submitter and I severely limit the quantity and control who I allow to submit through me. This was learned over time.

     

    Is this just a really long winded way of saying "Burn the Witch?" If not, expect it to fall on deaf ears.

     

    I think we can agree on the odds of anything calming the mob but I thought it was worth a try. The HOS is quickly becoming useless as well. I stopped using the "No HoS or Probies" in my sales threads. Although the list of boardies I will not accept any SS subs from has grown tremendously. lol

     

    In the SS forum, Menace said he never received my email. PM me your email and I can forward you his response to my email. Its not just about getting my refund. I am not going to let him bash me by saying he did not get my emails. He is showing no remorse and needs to man up and tell the truth for once.

     

    I would like to see my reply to your emails, maybe I have a different email but I search your email I see a bunch of PayPal transactions and a message on Dec 3rd. Perhaps I have you mixed up, I did get you mixed up with Jay.

    Ok regarding Medina... should I throw a creator under the buss? Would that be good for the SS program?

     

    I heard it asked how many opps I am doing? One. Medina. Why you might ask because I don't want to put my name out there for anyone outside my own studio anymore.

     

    Things have certain protocol that must be followed, I am not blaming CGC they took less than a day to get back to me with approval to send in less books. But that had to be done.

     

    I can say that when it was brought to my attention that the scans were posted on the thread I had not even been told about it. I think I posted as much in the thread. Am I neglecting the opp? No but I am not getting updates, perhaps because so many others are messaging Angel at the same time so he assumes I will see them.

     

    Edit: As updated in the SS room, the paperwork has been at Angels house but he was at La Mole in Mexico City and just returned home today.

    I feel bad about not sending the book to John, but as you will see by our Facebook log which I will put here in full (well I hope I edited any bad words or remarks) I indicated I sent 'a package' which I thought included the replacement book. 6-5 I heard about it, 6-22 the book is sent to me, I indicate I will pack it and send it to John, along with what I believe was other books I needed to send to him. 7-26 we talk again, general chatter, I ask John about something on his Facebook page for something I am writing. I indicate I am yet again shipping things out but no mention that the replacement book has not arrived yet. 7-26 John asks me if I got his book back but doesn't ask if I sent his yet. So I have no idea at this point I did not send it yet. 9-2 and 9-3 we talk after he is at Dragon Con and he never mentions the book is missing.

     

    I understand I dropped the ball by not getting the book out, I am however very easy to reach by phone, email or Facebook. I find PM's to be a VERY bad way to organize things and that led to some of these very delays in shipping that I as well as everyone else would like to avoid.

    Ok, I just learned something new. I was able to look up the cert# from the census online. It says it is supposed to be a 9.6. I can see how you easily mistook it for a 9.8 by top label though.

    If you took care of your business in a timely manner, this wouldn't happen.

     

    If you're too busy to take care of your business here, perhaps you shouldn't offer more than you can handle? (shrug)

     

    It doesn't do much good to offer things up for sale or signings if they can't be completed in a timely manner.

     

    One book, which was sent in good faith.. I didn't mislabel the book... out of around 250 books pre ordered books. I am not perfect, yep I am busy I traveled more weeks than I was home this year.

     

    Regarding board sketch opps.. this is not the first to go long, and I am not doing board opps anymore for this very reason.
