  1. I need to rant because I'm so upset by this. I was looking so forward to the Action Comics #1000 blank variant. And then they finally showed it off yesterday. And this is how it should have looked in my opinion. This is what would have personally made me happy. What do you all think?
  2. Here is a commission I got from Keith Tucker at Emerald City Comic Con. Featuring Dory and Scamp on a Walt Disney's Comics: and stories, Blank cover. Not my normal commission but it's they are my daughter's favorite characters. The above is Keith and his wife showing off the progress made on the sketch cover.
  3. I've been thinking about this more and more. I have a few books I would like colored. If I can ever get access to a really good scanner I would scan in the covers and have them colored in that way. I know the colorists I would want to do each cover too,. But I wouldn't do it to the originals. I'm also ridiculously paranoid about light damage that I'm not in a hurry to find a scanner. It will happen one day.
  4. Sketch cover from Kei Zama who came all the way from Japan to attend Emerald City Comic Con this year. She posted progress photos of this via twitter. I gave her a panel from the Death of Superman as a reference. To replace Doomsday with Transformers G2 Megatron and Superman with Optimus Prime.
  5. I got so busy with interviews and recording the show that I missed the short box meet up.
  6. I taped IDW's Panel from ECCC. Enjoy IDW's Emerald City Comic Con Panel 2018
  7. I hunt for beat up copies of the original Transformers to fill my spinner rack. Love the comic book series and I don't feel bad about just picking one up out of the rack to show someone or read.
  8. That is a very nice looking copy of issue 80! Good on you!
  9. Please explain to me where on earth you found such a clean Superman blank cover? I've never seen one. In fact, I'm hoping to the gods that the Action Comics 1000 is super clean.
  10. What is the setup going to be like? I was looking at the ECCC map and WSCC 307 looks like a table to me on the main convention floor. For some reason I had in my head a room like one of the fan meetups where we could all bring in our comics and chat with each other.
  11. Wow! Thank you so much for making this easy for me to locate! I will most defiantly check them out.
  12. I'm a big fan of doing the blank covers over a normal 8x11 bristol board commission. It's mostly just because I love comics. I also find it easier to rotate out my display with sketch covers than bristol board art. I feel like I have to high-end frame all those commissions and that gets way pricy quickly.
  13. Well okay. What am I looking for? Transformers comics. Mostly trying to hunt down a few rare books from the Dream Wave days. Blank covers from IDW's Transformers: Regeneration One. Even looking for drawn on issue 81s. Blank covers in general for that matter I would be stoked to check out. Not just Transformers.
  14. This is pretty cool and I'm looking forward to attending. I wonder if this would be a good place for people to ask what they are looking for and what they are bringing. Maybe get a step up on helping each other out?
  15. This! You know, I'm a huge Transformers fan. And there is a hand full of Transformers artists coming to this conventions. However, I've met them all before either at ECCC or other Transformers conventions. I would like to meet someone new. I've also been searching the guest list for artists who I would be interested in getting sketch covers from and I'm just not seeing any I'm interested in. Transformers or others. So yea. I too am a bit underwhelmed by the guest list. I'm really hoping the show will make up for it in other ways. But a huge vinyl pop booth isn't it.
  16. I have one sketch cover lined up. Pretty stoked for it.
  17. Hi everyone. I found this thread thanks to comix4fun posting in The OFFICIAL "This week in your ORIGINAL ART collection?" thread. I am a big D&D fan and the last ten years I spent in Alaska, playing D&D 4E with my friends saved us from the darkness and boredom. Since then I've been more into Swords & Wizardry (OSR). I don't get to play much since moving down to Washington state. I miss it. Anyway, I've been a fan of the TSR art and slowly learning about the artists who have worked at TSR. This whole thread has been very informative and interesting. Thank you all. Last year at Emerald City Comic Con, I commissioned an artist to homage the famous Larry Elmore art from the redbox. I'm also a huge Transformers fan so I had the artist replace the fighter on the piece with a Transformer.
  18. I'm not the most active on this thread, but I am subscribed to it and lurking often. Last night I finished the 4 fourth episode. I'm enjoying this show so damn much. So far it's my favorite of all the Marvel netflix shows. One thing did bother me in Episode 2. I say this knowing I'm not well versed in the PUNISHER. Just a fanboy.
  19. At TFCon DC last October I commissioned Transformers comic book artist, Josh Burcham to turn a TESLA Roadster into a G1 Autobot.
  20. This is a piece I commissioned from Matt Moyland to be picked up at TFCon DC. Due to uncontrollable circumstances, Matt had to cancel his attendance last minute. Being the classy stand-up guy that he is, he kindly mailed the commission to me. I got it today. Looks fantastic! I love the Transformers Tie-in.
  21. I've been thinking about this more and more. I still think Blank Cover books can hold some value if you invest in them beyond the cover price. But, I wonder if first appearances will still hold value. Batman: The Animated Series, issue 12 should not be worth what it is. It's just because It's a first appearance in a modern book. So I guess first appearances could make the book worth something.
  22. Gotten another done! I have a video interview to share with the artist Casey Coller from TFCon DC earlier this month. Casey did a sweet homage to Todd McFarlane for me with Starscream. This thing turned out amazing. Completely blown away. The guy seriously over delivered on this one!
