There are quite a few Golden Age slabbed books that have wavy labels due to the bulkier slab. I have seen that many times over the years. The slab does not look tampered with in my opinion at all. It is the nature of the book inside a larger size slab.

This guy made some custom Kenner SW figures.
If you know, you "know".
Bet you @comicwiz doesn't have these prototypes in his collection.

I sometimes send raw books in to Comic Link so they can send them to CGC and put them up for auction as soon as they come back. This saves the cost of shipping to and from CGC from Canada. For perspective, if I use FedEx I pay about $80 (counting their hideous fees to handle customs) for a submission to get books to CGC, and over $150 to get the books back. That adds about $10 per slab to my costs. Of course I am still dealing with two companies instead of one, but my point is that that putting everything under one roof could be a pretty popular idea with some sellers. Send in books and get paid, in its essence, sounds better than send in books, pay for the shipping and grading, and slog out selling to try to make back more than you put in.
I'm not saying it is a good idea for one business to have that much control over the market. It isn't. I am just pointing out that if it did play out this way I can see a lot of people using it.
I am more talking about if CGC directly operated its own auction house and we noticeably saw books that they facilitated through their auction house receiving noticeably higher grades than they should. I think there was a taste of that with the Promise collection and it was not a good look.
I am nearing the end of my comic collecting journey as I gave myself an end date back in 2010 when I got back into these books. CGC will provably be a necessary evil to maximize my gains with quite a few books in my possession. I have not submitted anything in almost 3.5 years but I will probably start up again in the next year or two. I need a strong CGC not one that is suspect.

There is no question to Gagas talent, she is a top tier musician and will probably more than excel, but I just can't stand musicals
Technically, the Blues Brothers is a musical.
You mean to tell me that you cannot stand the Blues Brothers?

Have I told you about my NFL Felons Autographed Card Collection?
Abuse, murder, hired assassination, obstruction of justice, felony drug dealing, assault... it's all there.
I call it the Legal Troubles Collection and yes, I have a PSA autographed OJ card to headline this. I have only shown off 6-7 cards I believe, but the collection is up to around 15 cards at this point.

Super late to this discussion.. I have an email from Mike.. in Nov 2023 stating he was backed up and would get back to me. This was from the contact@hrcomics.com account. He has my ASM 15. I know it was disassembled a couple years ago to add a page (that was missing and purcheds seperatly). I know it isn't a huge book but I would like to get it back or some of the money I paid for it.
Currently my emails are going unanswered. I have seen random solutions on this thread. Can someone give me next steps? I think I paid him with my credit card.. but like many of you my preference is to get my book back.. even if it is in pieces.. it took a long time to round up the exact missing page to make it complete (married).
When you say that he said he was "backed up" is that him admitting that he is quite literally full of excrement ?
Side note to Michael DeChellis who is probably reading this.... Sup' BOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

So far it looks like this is going to do really bad at the box office. I'm wondering if it will be the Marvels at this point.
I am optimistic.
All jokes aside, the last time a big budget movie had total plotlines cut out and was completely reworked this way I believe it was Star Wars: Rogue One and Star Wars: Solo.
Rogue One is actually one of the better SW movies out of all the live action theatrical releases in my opinion. Star Wars Solo is highly under-appreciated and has gotten a better reputation since its release. I reserve judgement until after I have seen it.

My lord that was jaw dropping.
Hemsworth's over the top performance is incredibly fitting from the tone of what we are seeing Miller offer up in his last installment of this universe. The trailer actually made my jaw drop especially with the spent casings falling about Hemsworth. I guess we will also see how she loses the arm.

MAX is having a 40% off sale on its annual plans. You can get one with ads for under $70 a year. The price seems to be good for both new and existing customers so if you are paying more........
Or if you know someone that has an optimum online package and trade them Netflix, Disney+ and things like that, you can run a full optimum package over a verizon fios line using an Apple TV...

All I see in this thread is a bunch of worry warts.
Do you actually think the USA Gov't is going to spend their time and resources on that? Come on now.
Literally just give it your best guess on how much you paid and write in the expenses box and call it life.
I love how most comic collectors can tell you exactly who and what con they bought their ASM 300 at, but yet when it comes to remembering what they a paid it slips their mind.....
I live in a town where I walked out of Panera Bread to hear someone yelling into their cell phone while pacing the parking lot, "You are not getting it, the Feds took (Spoon)ing everything."
So... yeah...

So do you want me to put together a write up based on this incident with Ryan as the complainant?

ASM #252 CGC 9.8 Record Sale - something fishy going on? - Holder Tampering Incident confirmed by CGC

I guess anybody can stay at a Holiday Inn these days.
Your "degrees" and "manifestos" don't amount to much in this area and when it comes to matters such as these, related to comic books and slabs I would defer toward RMA and quite a few others.
Your slab was not tampered with. This is eye rolling as now it seems you might realize your mistake but are trying to convince yourself and not the rest of us of your "side".
This place is getting to the point that it's best to just read only.
Maybe there are even more reasons than I realized that I have not bought a single comic book or piece of art this year.
Disney World was great. Old San Juan was great. Other places to go see, spend my money on and things to do.
