  1. Not really confusing, because the answer to all your questions is...money.
  2. Welp, I got home from work and the box was here. It was completely shrinkwrapped (never a good sign) and had a huge gash through the side (also not a good sign). Miraculously, everything seems to still be in the box and the only casualty is that one of Doomsday's arms was broken. I'm very happy it showed up and it's caused me to have faith that the box that UPS just lost might get here eventually as well. Here are the contents of the box I finally got today after being mailed April 6th.
  3. Wow. There's something wrong with your brain, heart and soul if you didn't like ANYTHING Marvel made from 2008-2019. If that's truly the case, I feel sorry for you.
  4. My saga is about to come to an end. After 32 days in transit the package popped up in at the Columbia, SC hub last night and is on the truck to be delivered today. Hopefully all seals are still intact and contents undisturbed. The damn thing took a longer vacation than I ever have! I'll post the contents later on when I'm home from work. Vader : "This will be a day long remembered..." Now, to talk about the box UPS just lost on me...
  5. Sadly, that's where my package that was lost for over 3 weeks now (supposedly) sits, and is apparently lost again.
  6. The most mis-quoted line in cinema history. "No...*I* am your father." He never says "Luke" there, though everyone remembers it like that.
  7. Does anyone here collect the Monster in My Pocket line from Matchbox or know anyone who does? I have questions I cannot find answers to. Thanks in advance.
  8. It should run you less than $100 for a complete one in nice condition with the "walking" mechanism still working. The driver figure is also one of the cheaper ones loose if you needed him as well.
  9. Those Poison Ivy covers are simply gorgeous. There are so many talented artists out there today.
  10. I have a package that was sent to me from Las Vegas on the 6th. Tracking showed it was accepted at USPS on the 6th, then...nothing. Two days ago it popped back up as received in Memphis. This morning it updated to "your package is moving within the system but will be late." It was so late that I've already had time to file an insurance claim, get it accepted and receive the check. I just can't cash it now that there's a chance the package will show. Hopefully it will make it here...lots of nice toys inside!
  11. Again, the conversation was about a high-value book. Read through the recent posts, please. So you didn't insure the slab for the full amount. That affects the shipping cost, obviously. 1" thick mailer? Like a Gemini mailer? That's NOT a well-protected slab, sorry to inform you. What were the actual dimensions of the package?
  12. Was it a high-dollar slab insured like the one we've been talking about? $100 insurance is automatically included, so there's $0 additional cost there. Above that, you get charged. Also, how was yours packed? I find your total amount claim dubious since one side has to be over the 12" threshold for cubic weight surcharges. How big was the package? I can't ship a loose Star Wars or GI Joe figure in a 4oz package from South Carolina to California for less than $5. Again, it seems dubious.
  13. Not WAYYYYY back, but retro enough. This pic's for you, @Buzzetta 😊
  14. I guess they figure with all the "similar looking" CGI characters out there that kids won't care. I can see that, actually.
  15. It didn't do well but then again they have done 3-4 of them over the past 20 years or so. Woody, however? I've not seen anything from him since the 70s.
  16. I've ordered 3 of the Taschen oversized books from Amazon and thankfully all of them came in with no damage.
  17. If it's insured the seller is losing money at a $15 shipping charge. Shipping a well-protected slab from the East Coast to the West Coast is over $13 now with zero insurance for just USPS shipping.
  18. Thanks! I find myself becoming obsessed with cartoon books, the more obscure the better. Lol. I mean, I love the Looney Tunes and WDCS series but some of these wacko ones I've never heard of are great to look through!
