  1. That's what you get for believing you can leave this place. Cue Hotel California Indeed. You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave. Stab it with their steely knives, but you still can't kill the beast.
  2. , I guess I've forgotten how to search for posts....I need another WTTB training session....
  3. Blessed are they that continue nik's tradition. I love this dearly.
  4. Hey, has anyone seen shiverbones? I haven't seen him around here in recent years.
  5. I agree--I think Dominguez is highly unrated as well. And Kubert really didn't get to shine that much in the horror realm but I really like some of the stuff he presented as well. Didn't care too much for the Heck / Giordinodo covers though. I know I massacred the spelling.
  6. ^ It's the reason why I got suckered into collecting that series, despite the precipitous decline both in covers, story and art in the later issues. Just a quick reminder on a few Kickstarter Horror items that I invested in. Crypt of Screams has 3-4 days and Untold has ~10 days left. The Crypt of Screams is fully funded (by 300%) and looks awesome, if not mature. COS is pure anthology while Untold is an ongoing story / plot. The Untold book looks more psychological driven....which should play out well over subsequent issues. I'm really digging the art style. There are still spots open if you want Vicks to do a sketch, as well as original art if that's your thing. I did some cameos (you'll be surprised) and the Dark Figure OA. And both are 1st issues! Untold - Kickstarter Untold - Facebook Crypt of Screams - Kickstarter Check em out, throw em some money if inclined. Support those who create the content we love! Later.
  7. You answered your own question. I'm ok with a little wait. Last time they hired a bunch of new graders earlier this year the grading got way too tight. Buyers aren't going to be duped into buying the label. I'm laughing at all of these 9.2s in 9.8 slabs and then laughing at the asking price. Good luck with that.
  8. There's something wrong with one of the colonels being a chicken. I would think the colonel would be a chickens worst enemy Hey, if it's good enough for the Donald....
  9. Not entirely true. Some of the publication counts are spotty.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_Implosion
  10. It's absolutely "one" of my favorite early Ghosts covers (it's hard to hate any of them)....my 9.8 from bobcat.enterprises back on eBay was a very nice (and hard fought) victory....QP is near perfect too. Ghosts #111 CGC 9.8 White Pages
  11. What are you basing this off of? Can you be more specific? Are you stating that theft IS rampant via shipping outbound from CGC? If so, please provide additional info. Thanks. No I don't know that, but if it were it wouldn't come as a surprise. I mean all packages leaving there headquarters address have comics in them. A carrier could google the return address on the box, know what kind of business is operated at that address (i.e. grading and returning of high dollar comics). Well sure, there's always a chance/possibility...but as others have noted if there was a trend we as a community would be all over this like stink on mess. Welcome to the bores. .. err...boards...

  13. The charging of the card is by far the fastest part of the CGC service. WOW! Keep it up, CGC!
  14. Where's the link to the book you refer to? It all basically boils down to if there's competition for any book at any point in time. Bernie is always in demand, anyways. Want to see what my 9.8 Dominguez cover of Ghosts will sell for? Cheap. Frankly b/c of the height of the 2000-2004 timeframe I think a lot of books are overpriced now. I've been gone five years and I see the same issues for sale. So I'd say AT BEST "certain issues of a common popular cover artist" is hotter momentarily, but I definitely don't buy the genre is on fire. Which is the way I like it. How else am I going to get 9.8 issues for less than I paid for 9.6 copies? Here's a well aligned copy of a HOS 91 in 9.4 /White pages that sold at least $50 cheaper than I paid for 9.4: http://www.ebay.com/itm/House-of-Secrets-91-CGC-9-4-White-Pages-Neal-Adams-Cover-2nd-Highest-Graded-/232010044319?hash=item3604e0539f%3Ag%3AbsMAAOSwkl5Xfn4c&nma=true&si=a%252B1tlkBW%252BasvgpfZwLHyYBDKniU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  15. I get that lawyers specialize in certain areas...I doubt there is a need to specialize in the "shipper service / lost packages" space, otherwise they would be there like the ambulance chasers. You may want to seek out one that specializes though...not sure which one it would be--maybe the local lawyers here can chime in. What your response from the lawyers are telling me is "it's not worth my time to figure it out---at least for free of charge". Or did you pay for that answer?
  16. ^ Agreed. I think Wayne-Tec has reached the capacity of what this board can do and offer. Time to visit handleonthelaw.com maybe? Does FFB still peruse the boards? I'm not sure as a consumer of their shipping service you necessarily have rights to COMPEL them to deliver that information. That said, a lawyer can try...but that will cost you. I'm not sure what you're looking for that will satisfy you....it sounds like you don't believe them or trust them to do their job to look for the package. And I get that you feel like they're not doing everything YOU THINK THEY SHOULD BE DOING...but they're not going to dance along to your tune. At the end of the day, that's what insurance is for. That is the albatross we should learn from this experience.
  17. I get your'e upset, but you're talking about things I'm not sure you have the power to influence...short of following the age old advice: you'll get more bees with honey.
  18. I bought the page from a fellow collector for $4,300 -- a good deal IMO, as it was more than $100 less than a similar example, page 3, sold for at CC auction recently. did anyone ask if you have your collection insured with CIA or the likes?... yes, near the top
  19. Thanks, definitely cheaper...which makes me suspect if this doesn't have the CGC logo on them. FYI I've had the boxes with and without and those without did feel of less quality. Does anyone know what kind eGerber has? They have the logo, just like the picture you posted. I've ordered several from them. Awesome...Eureka! Thanks so much.
