  1. Two possibilities: (1) Yellow label with a green top, i.e., qualified signature series. The new (witnessed) signature would be certified, the original signature would not but it also would not be a defect affecting the grade of the book; (2) Regular signature series. Again, the new (witnessed) signature would be certified, the original signature would not, but under this label the original signature would be treated as a defect which would lower the grade of the book.
  2. Looks authentic to me. Plus, if someone were going to forge it for profit, they would be unlikely to personalize it.
  3. Just saw this on the web: http://www.comicsbeat.com/an-evening-with-brent-anderson-steve-englehart-mike-friedrich-al-gordon-and-steve-leialoha-at-the-cartoon-art-museum/ Not sure if there will be any signing allowed, but these are some bronze-age names you don’t see every day. Any facilitators in the SF area interested? If I were out there, I’d love to go the panel...
  4. Me too. This seems like it would be such a no-brainer good business decision by CGC. The opportunity appears to be there, in that Byrne appeared (and signed) at NYCC last fall and now has committed to two more con appearances. He has clearly reversed his “don’t do ‘em, don't ask me” policy. It seems to me a pleasant conversation making a S/S opportunity as easy (and profitable) for him as possible might do the trick. There would be a lot of pent-up demand which would explode if this came to pass. Someone from CGC should chime in on this thread.
  5. With whom did you inquire? CGC? Or someone affiliated with Byrne?
  6. John Byrne will be appearing at Fan Expo Canada and Boston Comic Con this year. I wonder if he will eventually lift his prohibition against CGC Signature Series, if he’s back on the convention circuit? Boy, would the floodgates open.
  7. I think that is generally true, but I also think that the Milestones signed by Jack Kirby with a COA fetch a few hundred dollars when they are also CGC certified and signed by Stan Lee. It is well known that Kirby signed Milestone editions of FF1 and X-Men 1, So despite the fact that CGC does not certify his signature, it is also true that no one questions it. So most people think it’s pretty cool and will pay up for these Milestones editions signed by both.
  8. Hmmm. Anyone facilitating while attending?
  9. Now I find out that Brent Anderson will be at Sac-Con a week from this Sunday. Any facilitator/witness going, by any chance? Smaller show, I know, but you don’t know unless you ask...
  10. I just learned that Max Allan Collins, the creator of Ms. Tree and Road to Perdition, is making a rare appearance at C2E2 this weekend. He will be signing on both Saturday and Sunday. I have had three comics that I have been waiting for years to have him sign. I can't believe I discovered this so late in the game. I would like to overnight my comics to a facilitator's hotel room in Chicago, assuming someone is there facilitating the show. Is anyone there? All three books are already S/S (and so would need to be cracked), but I will provide fully prepped window bags. Help! Is anyone there and willing to do this for me? Dave
  11. You only realize the full extent of how much you lean on this thread when it hasn’t been updated in months.
