  1. Can't speak to the rest of his situation, but one of those job losses is on him. Bootstraps not blogs. You're right, I mean there is always an exact time table for someone to deal with mental illness. I'll say this, I'm severe ADD was diagnosed in 1983 as such. I never in a million years could produce a comic book on a monthly basis when I was on my own with no local support to keep me on task. 1. I never said or suggested there is a good or bad time for mental illness. 2. Then maybe, working in an industry which requires you to create something on a monthly, or at least a regular basis, is not the right career choice for you. That is not coming from a place of disgust with delays, by the way. I wish him the best. I just hope he makes the life decisions that will allow him to be well. I don't think there's any job that Nate could take that wouldn't be affected by his mental illness; it just happens to be he's an artist. And depression doesn't bring about ordinary, "woe is me"-type sadness. It's not even grieving, death-of-a-loved-one-type sadness. It's debilitating, paralyzing, "I can't move"-level fear. It's not rational, and you don't just beat it by "manning up." Nate has huge talent with a crippling disease, and I don't care how much he decides to write or vent or ramble; it's his blog and if it helps him cope, so be it.
  2. Do you have the link? I searched all over DCBS & can't find where to order.
  3. True, but it seems to be the world behind the story is really well-planned out, so while a current world map might create some limitations, they could still create a map of the world at Year X, and there would still be flexibility to move boundaries through war, treaties, marriage, etc.
  4. That would be really cool to have all the info of the different Families in one place. I'm also hoping for a world map, but Greg Rucka talked in the letters how that might be really difficult. I can imagine drawing logical boundaries and determining disputed lands would be difficult.
  5. One of the best #1s I've read in a while. Just enough exposition to get to know the characters without slowing down the plot, tight -script with organic action & humor, clear relationships/power-dynamics between the main players, well-defined character designs, and excellent art that captures the scope and desolation of the desert planet. All the ideas have been done before, but their execution so far has been top notch. Really looking forward to #2.
  6. I actually avoided this title because of all the covers. It could be a great title, but my track record on speculating on multiple regular cover titles (ex: Jupiter's Legacy, Shutter, Tales of Honor...) has not been good.
  7. Ooooh! I'd buy 3 prints to get the TFAW print, but I already got 3 prints at PN and I have to rebuild my bank account. That's awesome though!
  8. Is Bombshell just one variant cover? 30K is a HUGE PR for a variant.

  10. I agree. While the story clearly focuses on Forever, the size of the cast is astounding, so it's important that Rucka & Lark flesh them out. They've done a great job showing the lives of the Families & the Waste; I'd personally like to see more about the Serfs, and how precarious their own situation is within the world order.
  11. Wow!!! The new covers are stunning! The B&W worked for the first arc with Zoey adjusting to her new life on campus and her murderous urges kept in check, but from the covers it looks like Zoey's bloodlust is ready to spill out, and I'm really looking forward to the vibrancy that color will bring to the next arc. I know you were concerned about the extra labor of a full color book. How do you & your wife intend to handle the extra work while meeting the monthly deadlines?
  12. A day for the most powerful people on Earth For who but a Mother could conquer Death?
  13. Just saw your Kane Hodder signed #6 listing. That's so cool! Did the comic shop have both of you appear at the same time?
