Should Con dealers beat/match online prices?
Cruzin' Thru Comics replied to Knightsofold's topic in Comics General
We stopped selling at conventions this year. With table costs rising every year it’s tough to make a decent profit at them. We are doing fine with our brick and mortar shop, eBay and instagram sales. About prices at our shop- it’s tough and time consuming to reprice thousands of books when the market fluctuates constantly. What we do is take offers on books and discount them as well. If a customer pulls up a book on eBay at a lower price we’re happy to match or even beat that price. You have to be realistic unless you really don’t want to sell comics. A customer can go online and get a book for cheaper so you gotta match those prices. -

Hugh Jackman Wolverine original art
Cruzin' Thru Comics replied to Cruzin' Thru Comics 's topic in Original Comic Art
Appreciate it -
Hi, a contact of ours has this original art page I believe signed by Hugh Jackman. There’s a print of the color image with it. I can’t find this anywhere. I don’t know if it was an unpublished piece or maybe used for advertisement for a movie etc.. The art page appears to be an original. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I appreciate it. I’ll think about it. They do look way nicer when properly restored. -
Comic book spinner racks - who's got one?
Cruzin' Thru Comics replied to Quicksilver Signs's topic in Comics General
A buddy of mine who always acquires some different stuff got this DC spinner rack which I purchased from him for the shop. It’s made of heavy gauge plastic and works great! I heard these were limited and sent out by DC to a limited number of retailers. I had never seen one before. The vintage white spinner I bought at Cal Comic Con yesterday for a good price although it’s missing the base. I’m going to make one until I can find an original. If anybody has one please let me know. One question- the rack has some rust at welds and a couple broken welds which I’ll fix but should I paint the whole rack or leave it original? The header is in pretty good shape and I’m leaning towards keeping it all original. -
We sell some stuff on IG but normally lower value items. Younger crowd on there with not too much to spend. Many of our local customers claim books on there and then go to the shop to pick them up.

Looking to verify She-Hulk book for this art
Cruzin' Thru Comics replied to Cruzin' Thru Comics 's topic in Original Comic Art
Awesome. Appreciate it! -
Hi, I recently purchased this OA and I’m trying to verify which book it’s from. Seller said Savage She-Hulk issue 20. Top of art says page 25. Would also like to verify artist(s) and writer. A CGC label of this book says David Anthony Kraft story and Mike Vosburg and Frank Spinger as artists. It also has some cool sketches on back of the page. I just don’t have any She-Hulk I can get to right now at the shop to verify. Any info would be appreciated and thanks.

Does Expertise/Experience no longer matter to be a dealer?
Cruzin' Thru Comics replied to Krydel4's topic in Comics General
Not the dealers fault that cgc graded it a 9.6. If I have a 9.6 book in the shop that’s what it’s being priced at. Buyer can decide not to buy it and move on. The smirk on his face is because he’s probably tired of cheap buyers/flippers trying to low ball him. -
My buddy has this Batman OA but doesn’t know much about it. I was just wondering if anyone might know the Aritst and if this was an actual published panel or page. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Comic book spinner racks - who's got one?

You could probably have a base made. I’d think it would be much better. It was originally designed as a spinner rack. -
Are We Now Looking at a New Normal?
Cruzin' Thru Comics replied to Math Teacher's topic in Comics General
My customers want to buy slabs. I just sent 25 to the other company 2-day modern. It’s about the same price as CGC fast track modern. From what I can see I should receive them within a couple weeks. Waiting 4 months is just not feasible when you need to restock your shop. -
Comic book spinner racks - who's got one?
Cruzin' Thru Comics replied to Quicksilver Signs's topic in Comics General
I finally got a spinner rack! I have a fold out one and a classics illustrated one in the shop but picked this one up today. I think it’s awesome. I’m not sure if the base is original but I think it is. Need to clean it but it’s in pretty good condition. The guy I got it from said he had it since he was ten years old. When we went to look at his collection he didn’t want to sell it at first but glad he did! I think it’s a circa 1960’s rack since silver age books fit in it. Any info would be appreciated. -

Where can you find the hidden gems these days ?
Cruzin' Thru Comics replied to FrankG's topic in Comics General
I’ve been buying and selling comics for about 12 years now. Conventions and eBay etc.. Finally opened a small brick and mortar shop about 2 years ago. Best thing I ever did. Collections coming in all the time. For the most part people want to go somewhere they feel comfortable with. I know how tough it is hunting comics in the wild though. I know not everyone can open a shop but even just a small commercial office would work. As long as people know it’s public they will go. -
Not sure how 66 is his 1st appearance when he’s on the cover of 65? I sold two cgc copies of 65 in the shop and always thought that was his 1st
