  1. So far only three things have arrived of the five non-CGC ordered. ASM v3 #1 GameStop variant - seems to have shipped in shockingly great packaging so not even going to open it until I'm at my LCS to send off for grading. Well, unless it sells in my pre-order thread first. Two copies of Evil Ernie: Straight to Hell #1. Seems to be in 9.4-9.6 condition. And... waiting on two "unread" copies of Chastity: Theater of Pain #1. Should be here any day now though.
  2. Not terribly much other than comics. Have about a 1000 or so to get through. About to finish up "Mail-order Mysteries: Real Stuff From Old Comic Book Ads!" by Kirk Demarais "Spider-Man and Philosophy: The Web of Inquiry" by Jonathan J Sanford "Excelsior! The Amazing Life of Stan Lee" by Stan Lee "The Overstreet Guide to Collecting Comics" by JC Vaughn So mostly light reading to give myself a nice break from TPBs and back issues.
  3. Yes. No. Time, not space. No. I don't know what you're talking about.
  4. Old comic shop was doing a 24-hour sale thing for FCBD. From 5 AM to 7 AM 35% off everything + 20% off if you brought them something to keep them awake. Shame issues behind the counter are never included in these sales, but that didn't stop me from picking up some goodies for 55% off. Amazing Spider-Man #s 157, 159, 170, 175, 227 (love this cover), 229, 287, 303, 306 (x2), 324, 344, & 700.5 (just something to read).
  5. First and only one so far... just not enough space to properly show any additional atm. Suppose I may give in and make an exception for Purgatori and Chastity sooner or later though. Well... if they even exist...
  6. I think the 1990s Spider-Man animated series is still my favorite cartoon from my childhood. My favorite episodes were the Secret Wars and pretty much anything with a Goblin in it. Thanks to this thread, I am more than pleased to say my "birth comic" is this: April 1986 <3 And thankfully already had this baby added to my registry early last year. Never ever going to part with it now. Well... unless a 9.9/10 comes along...
  7. Some really awesome comics being posted. Gotta admit, I'm a little jealous. Spent an hour and half at my local Half Price Books. As usual, it was slims pickins. Even their stuff locked up had me smh. Especially when I saw the majority of my Chaos! Comics still there. Really regretting that sale now. Anyways, picked up a few titles that caught my eye. Might go back tomorrow and get what Phalanx Covenant issues I saw. But today's haul... "Moon Knight" #2 x2, Chaos! Comics "United", "The New Mutants" Annual #17, and "Excalibur" #94. I suppose not the greatest finds, but... at the very least can see how well my grading abilities are hopefully. Not bad for $4.75 either, I guess.
  8. Purchased ASM #431 CGC 9.8 from Brain. He provided excellent communication through entire transaction. Quickly shipped out the comic, well packaged, and arrived in perfect condition as scans showed. Appreciate the help finding one of my most cherished comics. Definitely would buy from again, and recommend 110%. Thank you, Brian!
  9. I... uh... "it's not about the size, it's how you use it"? "Not big enough?" "Yeah, well... so is your face!" No but seriously, 23 ASMs in 9.8 and 1 Web of in 9.8 so far. A yet-to-be-graded copy of Sonic the Hedgehog #8. Two ASMs awaiting a return from CGC. And an unknown large purchase pending next month. So... shamefully low in comparison, but at least I'm having fun along the way to triple digits and beyond. Gotta start somewhere after all.
  10. Honestly a little surprised by the results here. I didn't expect there to be as many collectors that much younger than I (27) though that may be due to my lack of interest in the more modern comics themselves. It's kinda nice to see the love of comics and collecting them reach all age groups still.
