  1. Once I subscribed for 3 years and got an exclusive Witchblade Darkness comic. I swapped it to my local (Billings MT) for $280 in trade and that was a fun day!
  2. I personally love synthesis work such as Grand Design. With mountains of canon, it's required reading IMO
  3. Some Saturday morning fun coming up for me - unboxing NECA's Year of the Rabbit set. This includes a new Space Usagi sculpt and some thoughtful accessories true to the comics. One fun 'happy cartoon' head. Also fun are the 6 tokage lizards ... only 2 figures had that prior (plus MAYbe one SDCC exclusive). Finally I've always liked a good Samurai armor Usagi, since the original 1989 Playmates figure had him w/ armor. The 2013 TNMT line Samurai Usagi is great but this one is much more colorful w/ accessories that recall the 90s Leonardo Sewer Samurai figure. Also awaiting a carded Usagi from the 2003 TMNT line in (what I believe is) 2005 packaging vs normal 2004 packaging. There's a few that seemed to fly under the radar recently- happy to add one to my collection. While the sculpt diverges from Usagi in the comics or in the show really, I like the swivel action and that Usagi can be set to finish the swipe in his iconic kill pose from the comics. This line also had a Battle Nexus Gennosuke "Gen" figure that fetches $200+ (UY's Rhino bounty hunter friend). A someday chase. One drawback - it's a challenge to find clamshells for the larger 2003-2005 cards so condition can be tricky.
  4. Thanks for your help@The Sledder and patience all - I intended to pick live but ranked the list from my phone after an airport delay. I'll review my messages and respond soon!!
  5. Opened mine early due to holiday travel. An amazing gift from @Ron C.! Thank you so much for this minty wraparound cover signed and sketched by Sakai - a beautiful piece heading into Usagi's 40th anniversary! I can't wait to display it with the NECA action figures. Thank you thank you!!
  6. Woooooo! Target restocked NECA Space Usagi and I saw the notification fast enough. Hit 12 targets unsuccessfully before this
  7. Now you too can blackmail your way to a PhD, steal Solo's fiance, program a murder bot & more! Plus some Aphra comics to round out the package. US & Canada shipping.
  8. Received safely and stashed under the tree. Packing my gift and it will mail in the next 2 days. Happy holidays everyone!
  9. All items received and about to take a victory lap at the last Burnham Bowl comic & toy show of the year Mmmmm bowling alley cheeseburger
  10. My favorite local vintage shop just did a Hobgoblin shirt as part of their last clothing drop ... HTF good Hobgoblin gear! Keep up the great focus
  11. RIP Bird! Sincere condolences to the family. It's unfair that life moves on when it seems it should stop, as it does for them. May you find all the grails in the next life!
  12. That was an odd gatekeeping he rant he went on - most def
  13. Chuck has also had an inventory algorithm that prices a comic lower when there is more stock. So if prices are high, he's high or he typically only has a few but if stock is deep then prices (after the codeword sale) is low. And this blanket algorithm doesn't account for speculator news, nouveau Keys, or move fast, it just reacts to a number. One boardie used to buy Sensational Spider-Man 2 from Chuck and flip them as 9.8s to good coin. He's also been a historically poor grader, which can be gamed. He was a lateish adopter of CGC, sans the Mile High 2 books, and grades off Overstreet. That means anything NM can be 9-9.8- lots of ppl complain about the 9.0 but fewer about those 9.8s. Recently he's been deliberately downgrading NM books to lower categories too, to fill stock at different price levels. He also used to not differentiate printings or errors which is frustrating until it's not - Thank you for the error Sandman 18s, 19s.
  14. Mail call from McFarlane toys... thought I was pre-ordering and they were delivered quick. More variants
  15. Good advice. Spawn collectors pay (on average) $20 usd for Mexican editions. I have. One could collect and resell those and you can use the funds to buy US comics. I started collecting by flipping books that were affordable and available to me for books that were less available and less affordable. It's a great way to build a collection. I think classic covers, homages or cover swipes would have the widest appeal. Or hot books, first appearances
  16. I've been thinking of stopping at 350. With the new titles and variants it's a lot. I have 3 short boxes for Spawn 1-299, and filling 5 more since 300.
  17. Some Denis Kitchen buttons bought from the man himself... he's out in MA now. Bought them for the Strictly Uppa Crust button, head/comix shop at 1234 E Brady St, also home to the 1812 Overture record shop Also this Milwaukee barfly button cracks me up
  18. Here's the best I can boast- my 1995 Grateful Dead tour shirt with stash bag sewn from the scraps of a friend's pants Sadly, I cut up all my vintage Liquid Blue, band shirts, etc and repurposed them into quilts from Project Repat.
  19. I live in the land of Goodwills and enjoy thrifting nice pieces of clothing vs fast fashion. However, I just discovered a retro vintage shop nearby that specializes in 80s, 90s pop culture. I've since bought some stuff and traded one shirt for store credit, including acquiring a 90s Vertigo Death t-shirt and a 90s retro Hendrix. Chances are they have your grail shirt, including mine - the allover B&W Jim Lee X-Men that I had in HS (now $500+). Really want to support this store!
