I accepted their best offer on a comic this morning and they paid immediately. I left positive feedback for the quick payment and around 6 hours later I returned home to package the comic for shipment. Right as I finish packaging the comic, I receive a message from the buyer requesting the order to be cancelled. I politely ask for a reason why, and their response was "I changed my mind". Not worth the hassle over a $30 comic so I sent them their refund and immediately blocked them. I noticed after the fact that they listed their recipient name for the shipment as "Adolf Hitler" and their full name on their Ebay account was listed as "Big boi". Likely a shill account just purchasing books and requesting cancellations after receiving positive feedback. Very sketchy if you ask me. I wish there was further action I could take, but Ebay unfortunately does not have an option to report buyers outside of a defined list of circumstances.

He may have retreated back to his bunker. Ebay can't find this user name.

Got my first refund request in a very long time.
('item not as described' / 'damaged')

Worried it was damaged via USPS I quickly reached out to the buyer.
After exchanging multiple messages I discovered it was because they didn't agree with CGC's grade of 9.8 once they had it in hand
Received the book back, refunded, and blocked them.

    username is rickyburns3266

CGC should hire this dude since these days CGC doesn't believe in 9.8 either.

Do tell?  Unless you’re referring to their fees and potential for schill bidding I’m not sure what you mean.

I'm just not interested in selling slabbed books on ebay because of all the stories I've heard, including scam artists who do the switcher-roo or claim non delivery, picky buyers who can return or ask for a discount if they don't agree with CGC grade. Plus we all know ebay generally sides with buyers unless one has a strong defense. I have no problem selling raw low value books because even if there is a problem my investment is minimal.

    Keep us posted.

Got my box of 25 1970's comic books back today.... Although CGC does not get 100% regarding any issues, none are worth sending back for the longer and longer wait to be corrected. A few had some minor spots and a few more had minor Newton's rings that would send a any stickler for perfection to the ME (if not the ER). For me, a sigh of relief.

  6. Are Economy books being graded in the parking garage.... ? Takes forever to get them back and a number need returning because of contaminates in the form of dark spots under the front. Unfortunately the spots are difficult to capture on film so no pics available.   Got a box of 25 heading home. Hope they are trouble free. Tired of this back and forth routine. Wish me luck.
