  1. I had a nice looking Ronin 6 come back a 9.2 with "moderate scuffing to cover".... along the spine on back. Sorry, no pics since it is at CGC for the third time with either debris or Newton Rings, or both... trying to get it fixed since January 2022.
  2. Might depend on the show but at a very small show CGC had a tamper proof bag that the book was sealed into and it was given back to me, after a signing. If that's the case there would have to be a CGC rep at each signing location to remove comic book from bag for multiple signings and then return to a new tamper proof bag. When done you bring the bags to CGC booth and they confirm that the bags are sealed and then they process your order. You pay the artists for their sigs (unless it's Joe Staton) but only pay the one fee for the Signature grading on multiple signed books.
  3. Same as a tear on a black cover. 2mm is a good size tear and I wouldn't think the graders would take into account the fact that it's barely visible.... unless of course they miss it.
  4. As I mentioned, I have used lighter fluid on blister pack cardboard with success but not on comic books. I would think different printing methods give different results. Experimenting is very good advise.
  5. Unfortunately notes are given at the grader's discretion and it seems that CGC, in its attempt to "improve" turn-around times, probably leaves little time for notes.... Although, if your grades are in the 9.4 to 9.8 range it's common not to have notes.
  6. Hopefully not among the many banded products here in California.
  7. I knew Joey would come through with a solution. Particularly like the hairdryer step. Is there a preferred source for naphtha other than "lighter fluid". I use this for cleaning many things around the house and at work.
  8. If the tape is not dried out but won't peel off easily you can try a bit of lighter fluid.... or maybe someone knows of a better solvent. Be sure to use backing so that it doesn't get onto interior pages. I've used this method on blister cards with some success. Doesn't seem to stain and evaporates quickly. Good luck.
  9. https://130point.com/sales/ Search engine that shows actual sold prices from ebay
  10. Ideal if you're reading your comic book on the john and you discover the roll is nothing but cardboard.
  11. Very nice book... Variant is in their system, so who's not doing their job?
  12. Hasn't gotten better. Recent box of 25 had 23 go back... 20 because of large areas of Newton rings. Last order of 100 books had 16 go back with maybe 12 having large NR.
  13. How will this news help all my Economy and Magazine submissions? TAT's will probably increases.
  14. Ebay lists a Snatch 1 CGC slab which is labeled 2nd print. CGC generally doesn't indicate a 1st print on their labels. Either way, auction house might be full of beans..... or maybe the grade for your copy is not listed on the CGC Census for 1st Printing. What grade is your Snatch #1?
  15. If your research is accurate how would the auction house know what printing it it? Have they given you an explanation? What is the comic book in question?
  16. If they weren't flat rate boxes I'd say tape the boxes together and ship as one. Otherwise, find one bigger box for your smaller boxes. Will more than likely be cheaper than medium flat rate times five. Less chance of major confusion on the receiving end.
  17. The magazine cases are not sealed on the sides but there shouldn't be a large gap. You can contact customer service and if they see a problem you can send it back for a no-fee reholder. As for not being centered, the holder is designed for all the different dimensions of magazines so smaller ones are put off to the right and there are plastic holders keeping the magazine in place.
  18. Per MattM CS "In order to send in MEs, they must first be approved by our customer service team. Please send us an image of each book in question showing the reason for the return AND the certification number of the slab IN THE SAME IMAGE. This will allow our team to process your ME request as quickly as possible. If books are sent in for ME submissions but not approved ahead of time, this could result in reholder fees to your account. "
  19. Good to hear.... Unfortunately, when I finally got through my boxes of 98 slabs 16 are going back. Mostly from large areas of Newton rings, a batch from one box with debris and one mislabeled ( should have been Canadian Price Variant). Good news is all the cases were in excellent shape... no scratches or scuffs which had plagued my last few orders.
  20. Books that I've had pressed have come back with "light bends to cover". Financially, not worth it in my opinion, even with a couple point bumps. Grader notes usually don't list all the defects.
