  1. Thanks guys. Luckily I plan ahead, so considering that I'm in pretty good shape. It's just another set back - and when you get as old as I am you realize life is full of setbacks. Just planning the best you can helps for the softest landing.
  2. trust me, if my old job didn't hose me with a lay off I'd be on it like a duck on a june bug...
  3. Thanks for clarifying that. After thinking about it - I thought that the girl could be possibly laying down with the rest of her torso in the back, but since the seat definitely isn't reclined I go back to the notion that she is basically wearing her glutes as a hat!
  4. I'm with you. It's just funny how many GA classics that are out there that have bizarre structural errors all throughout them (cough, cough, Blue Beetle 54)... If this was my first look at LB, I would say this is no body but a tracing hack. When you have a beautiful drawing that has no structure it screams that. But then again, My fav cover series of all time is Mask 1 and 2. If they were some how hacked, I really don't want to know... Bottom line is, almost like their are critics of cubism, even with all this the cover still works and most don't even see it unless it's brought to their attention.
  5. Now that this is sold, It's time to drop artistic shade... I love LB Cole, he's one of my favs, but damn just how many errors in perspective can you have on a cover??? Let's count them... 1/ That car is only 2.5 ft wide 2/ The steering wheel is flat as a flounder with no dimension 3/ How is she positioned like that in a 2.5 ft wide car? Damn, the girl's buttcheeks must be touching the back of her head 4/ The drivers car door has no dimension and is flat 5/ Is the car driven straight into a tree to get a close up of tree limbs like that? That might explain the poor girls broken back... 6/ What the heck is that on the left of the composition in the passengers window? It looks like cartoon sonic lines? This is a classic and I love it (for all the wrong reasons), but folks it's a train wreck! lol!
  6. I have a weird reason for loving this cover... This covers' Mr Fantastic and the Black Bolt illustrations were used as templates for so many cool toy packagings, cups, lunch boxes and posters in the 70's. Many of these Tchotchkes were my first exposures to these characters. Like the infamous Slurpee cups that I treasure. I would drink my slurpee, open my new Mego Spidey and read my MTU's while dreaming one day of reading the SA books of lore.
  7. "NO LONGER AVAILABLE... I WENT TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE INTERIOR AND PLACED IT ON SOME STRAWBERRY JELLY."
  8. That alien body style is so Fing Fang Foom!
  9. Wow! great looking stuff Arex, these books are really fresh with colors that pop!
  10. what a great storyline too. Jameson hates him so much that he's willing to create a villain to kill him. Why JJJ never got prosecuted over this and the numerous spider slayers I'll never know.
  11. But if you prefer to wipe with embossed, gatefold, glow in the dark, hologram fly pages???
  12. It's the end of the world as we know it...It's the end of the world as we know it...It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
  13. A favorite of mine. So much so that many folks here know exactly what I would say about it...
