  1. A 9.8 first print is at Heritage, 8 days remaining current price $108K (90K bid). https://comics.ha.com/itm/modern-age-1980-present-/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-1-mirage-studios-1984-cgc-nm-mt-98-white-pages/a/7279-91054.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515
  2. I'm not sure I understand, you were both bidding on a #1 1st print 9.8 and the other bidder had to sell his copy he already had at the same price? Do you happen to have the CGC# for the one that actually sold?
  3. Doug from Pedigree got back to me on the 9.8 1st print that sold on 3/9/22 on his site: $223,000. It seems like these have hit a plateau around the $225-250K range.
  4. Ok thanks. Do you know what it sold for? I can't find the pending items either, can you link?
  5. All I can say is...wow. Someone really likes the hot mess look. Not my thing but let's see where it goes, $60K with 14 days to go.
  6. you're correct, my mistake. had the wrong photo up on my screen. thanks for picking that up! It looks to be a newer serial # that I don't have any data on it in my database going back to 2005.
  7. That's a great point and one I've observed with this book and many others over this market boom. The 9.8's relationship to price has shot up multiples while all the lower grades have shot up as well, but not by as much. This 11/22/21 auction is of the same book that just "sold" for $245K on 9/1/21. So the sale likely fell through and the original owner is auctioning it this time.
  8. All I can say is, wow. Someone else lined up apparently for the next copy: https://www.comicconnect.com/item/925302?tzf=1
  9. I didn't see it posted but here is a 9.8 that's been kicking around for a while, asking price $250K. It says it has offers as high as $220K, which is not surprising since I've had people offer $180-200 for mine. https://www.comicconnect.com/item/929799
  10. At auction on Heritage I think a 9.8 could go for $120K, assuming there aren't 3 on the market like there were when this 9.6 sold. It muddies the water and brings prices down because of the competition.
  11. Yes. The last 9.6 sold publicly for $33K on 6/26/2020 on ebay, although that is a decade ago in this market. The real comparison is with the recent 9.4's which sold for $36K and $38.8K in February 2021. I'd even say 66K is slightly under what I would have guessed for the 9.6.
  12. So this was 125K for a day? Probably saw bitcoin went down so had to make it up somehow.
  13. A couple updates to notable #1's up for sale: A new 9.8 1st print (graded 2 days ago) just went up on ebay for one easy payment of $150,000! This copy has OW/W pages, just like the same seller's 9.6 with OW/W pages that was up for sale and since removed not long ago. Too quick for a press & relisting? I don't know. The seller is very secretive and as others had pointed out, used another photo of a 9.8 in a previous listing on ebay that "sold" for ~75K a while back. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Teenage-Mutant-Ninja-Turtles-1-CGC-9-8-Mirage-1984-1st-Print-3798269001/203319652195?hash=item2f56cbaf63:g:bqMAAOSwgX5gXM2~ The 9.6 on Heritage is at $42K: https://comics.ha.com/itm/modern-age-1980-present-/alternative-underground/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-1-mirage-studios-1984-cgc-nm-96-white-pages/a/7242-91047.s The 9.6 on CC is at $22.7K: https://www.comicconnect.com/item/901543
  14. If I didn't have any TMNT books of the original magazine size I would get the #1 3rd print highest grade I could afford (of those choices). For investment purposes I would get the #2 1st print as it had a lower print run, 15,000 versus the #1 3rd print which had 35,000. Now if you're talking 9.8 3rd prints, they will have the most room to fall if they do because of the print runs. When there is a correction, and there will be, they will come down the most. The ebay BIN prices are usually wishful thinking but I bet one of those sellers would entertain a lower offer.
  15. The 9.8 90K sale is legit. I talked to Ed Jaster, the head of Heritage collectibles about it. He said the person who bought it resold it for the 59K on comic connect (where it was purchased by the Rallyrd group).
  16. The #1-4 lot on Ebay has been discounted to listing watchers 10% to $450,000. Add your ebay bucks to that and you can get it for $449,998.37. https://www.ebay.com/itm/TEENAGE-MUTANT-NINJA-TURTLES-1-2-3-4-9-8-CGC-First-Print-WHITE-1984-TMNT/114715261934?hash=item1ab58ffbee:g:W8YAAOSwn6FgQr4a
  17. I think you're on the mark there, maybe higher, judging from what recent 9.4's have gone for. We'll get an idea with the two 9.6's at auction over the next month. Generally, double the next lowest grade has been about right with the high grade 1st prints. The last two 9.4's went for ~36K and ~39K so that would put the 9.6's around 70-80K, and 1st prints I'd guess sell at auction (HA, CL & CC) in the $140-150 area. Don't hate (this means you Lou) it's just a formula and my opinion.
  18. This is a new listing for the first four issues all 1st print 9.8's: https://www.ebay.com/itm/114715261934?ViewItem=&item=114715261934 only 1/2 a mil!
  19. Yeah, every dog has its day. Today is definitely the day, sell these while anyone values them at all. I sold a set on the bay for about $50 and am relieved I don't have to see them ever again.
  20. A half-hearted rewards program to begin with. I won't miss it at all.
  21. $38,888 for the 9.4. Previous 2 sales were $35,917 on 2/7/21 on Ebay, and $36,000 on 12/10/20 on Heritage. $18,027 for the 8.5. In-line with current pricing in my opinion.
  22. Anyone know the print run on these? I didn't know these existed...always thought my Aircel copies were the first runs...LOL. Those are impossible to sell.
  23. Oh Lou, there you go again.... You are sooo right. If you had bought a 9.8 1st print on 8/4/2011 for $22,752 you would have learned that pump and dump game all too well when another one sold for $17,925 on 11/15/2012! Don't these whipper-snappers ever learn?!
