  1. It's the same individual I was asking references for a few pages back; the person vouching for him was like, "He's not going to resell it".... It was 6k cash in hand... Anyhow he said he had a baby due the same day and it was a treasured gift he would pass down to her... It was a solid cash transaction but why all the fluff?!?

He sold you the story, whether or not he needed it to get the comic. His listing on the bay has a different story - buying a new house.

Stories? meh Why can't people just be honest. (shrug)

I checked periodically with anticipation... then now its listed... I'm happy I made a sale... just don't understand the pretense...

  2. Just saw the buyer of my copy decided to list it on eBay... Told me he was saving it for his newborn daughter... That lasted a month...

That's pretty shady. Was this a board member?

Doesn't do much on the boards... Mention him a few pages back

  4. how did you sub this? I've been reluctent

You have to do a magazine size comic and walk-through service submission (anything high value), which is super fast but runs about $120 depending on the value of the book. I recommend USPS Registered mail with insurance of what you think the book would sell on the market today. Your shipping cost/insurance of getting it to them can run $20-100 depending on insurance. Also, make sure you give a value to CGC that reflects the same market value because that's what they insure it on for the return mail.

Who did you use to sign it?!? In assuming you did this yourself then?!? No facilitator? Unless you are one?!?

Also did you ccs it Express also?!?

  5. Putting it up for 10k was ridiculous. Getting good advice from a boardie and reducing the price to what was a legitimate, logical price is what made it sell....

And congrats again to bcphillips. It a great thing to have, and I for one am glad and jealous

when that listing went up, i figured that he had ~$4400+ in it (that number doesn't include the #2 yellow and #3 red, which may have been through private sales). i always assumed the listing was to simply verify the existence of the set and the $10k pricetag was what it would take to pry it outta his hands. kinda like when RMA lists his black #3 for $2099.99... he ain't exactly trying to get rid of it, but i'm sure he'd gladly take that coin if someone seriously wanted to buy it at that price.

    Spot on more around 5400
