  1. I've been through NJ a few times in recent months, and I've tried to hit up some comic shops each time to hunt for stuff. Another NJ shop I'd add tot he list is the Joker's Child. They're a little OCD about their back issues, asking if you take a book out of the bins that you don't want, to leave it on top of the books rather than putting it back. That helps them keep everything alphabetized perfectly, which helps find stuff quickly. Paradox Comics had a decent number of back issues as well.
  2. Now I'm curious. There was a small indy book in the '90s with the same name, and by the looks of it, the same logo. I wonder if someone connected to the store published the book. https://www.amazon.com/Wonder-Old-Town-comic-book/dp/B0765ZV4JM
  3. Maybe they still include that in the SS section of the census, since it's both Qualified and SS?
  4. They're still there. I dropped in a few months ago; that's my neighborhood. Midtown's outlet store is also in the neighborhood, but they're only open on weekends, and the majority of their back issues are discount bin books. I too dropped by Mysterious Time Machine a few months ago, only to find them gone. With rent so high, most NYC stores don't carry a ton of back issues.
  5. I have a complete run of all of the original Milestone titles. They're really good reads, but with all of the new universes that popped up in the '90s, there was a lot to choose from. Since their focus was on minority characters, created predominantly by minority creators, I think a lot of people may have passed on them thinking they were being created for minority readers, but as a white guy from the suburbs, I had no problem finding the characters relatable. Since Static was a teen hero, I imagine the reading experience was similar to what readers got out of Spider-man when he was a new character in the '60s. They recently rebooted the line, publishing "Season One" minis of the original four Milestone titles (Static, Hardware, Icon, and Blood Syndicate). The second Static mini (Shadows of Dakota) and an Icon vs. Hardware mini are in-progress right now. At the time the original line was canceled, monthly sales numbers were only around 5000 copies or so, so a lot of those later Milestone books are tough to find, especially if you're looking for them in top condition.
  6. No connection other than the same name.
  7. All issues of Agents of WORLDE (including the ashcan and variants) are available on Scout's website. https://www.scoutcomics.com/collections/chaos-agent
  8. Could be. I just compiled the ones I'm aware of. I don't know if it's complete.
  9. Batman Vol.3 #124 Dark Knights of Steel #8 DC vs. Vampires #12 Deathstroke Inc. #10 Harley Quinn Vol.4 #31 Knight Terrors: Superman #1 Agent of W.O.R.L.D.E. #1-4 Nature's Labyrinth #1-6 (and it looks the Trade Paperback will have a different cover)
  10. I am very happy with my Milestone Platinum superfecta.
  11. If you want to take the risk that a dropshipper is going to buy something from you to send to someone else, claiming the condition is better than you said it was, then go ahead. I stated the reason why I'm going to block that eBayer; everyone can make their own decision.
  12. thrift.books I have not had a problem with this account, but they appear to be another dropshipper with plenty of negative feedback regarding condition, and I don't want to have to get involved with returns for a book that they could potential buy from me to ship to someone else, claiming it's better condition than I do, so I blocked them, as I do with all dropshippers I see.
  13. Is it because they weren't distributing that to newsstands?
  14. I picked up a full run recently for just over $100 shipped. I figure my #54 is better than this one. I should probably flip them now.
  15. That's just a typical Copper off-center bindery job.
  16. I'm not claiming this is a must-have. but figured people following this thread would be interested in the Psylocke JTC negative space variant: https://johntylerchristopher.com/products/x-men-22-jtc-exclusive-psylocke-negative-space-variant-edition
  17. There's a 1984 episode of Simon & Simon (Almost Completely Out of Circulation), the plot of which involves the murder of a comic creator. I don't know whether there are any actual comics depicted in the episode, or just the fictitious ones that the deceased created.
  18. Hawaii 5-0 (reboot), Season 9, episode 9: Mai Ka Po Mai Ka 'Oia'i'o There are a few scenes in a comic book shop. A variety of books can be seen, but especially some Valiant comics (as Christos Gage, who was writing for Valiant, wrote the episode).
  19. Also, interesting that you equate people not just accepting your hearsay as fact as being "triggered." No; it's as simple as calling out to new readers what is BS, and what is not.
  20. You've presented no hard evidence regarding the print run of this variant; just what you've been told. Hear…say. It's not that hard a concept.
