  1. Hi... is this the book you're looking for? The book is unread, factory sealed. $160 shipped to any address in North America. I'll be shipping from Toronto. Thanks.
  2. How about my copy? Last sale $9k... will let it go for $11000 shipped, just to get ahead of the curve a little bit. Thanks.
  3. Hi... I've got these from your list: Omega Men 1-12 (I assume the first series with #3 Lobo appearance) Seven to Eternity 1-9 Kingdom Come 1-4 All have 9.8 potential, unread, purchased by me off the shelf... all first prints. Exception is Kingdom Come, which are NM but I doubt they can hit 9.8. Let me know what you're offering... if we're on the same page, I'll post pictures. I just don't wanna put in the work if we're too far apart. Thanks.
  4. I just completed a very smooth transaction with Ario. He paid when he said he would and made things quick and easy. He gets a 5 out of 5 stars from me. Thank you Ario!

  8. No problem. I'll take your response as "no interest" in my particular book and move on. Good luck and cheers.
  9. Hi... I've got one. First print, blue label, 9.8... just arrived from CGC. $600 last sale okay... let me know if you're still interested. I've also got a couple of 9.6's as well ^_^
  10. I purchased a couple of books from Eric, but unfortunately, they arrived with cracked cases. However, I felt that the books were properly boxed up and padded with sufficient bubble wrap, which leads me to conclude that the package was excessively tossed around during commute. I sent some pics to Eric and described the damage and he was quick to reply with a resolution. We worked it out and he took action to conclude the matter for me immediately, which I appreciated. Professional and easy to deal with = Top score from me
  11. I've got this Strange Tales #110 available: $2025 shipped. PM me if interested
  12. How about these: 9.2/9.4 ballpark. 8.0-ish. Please note the small chip at bottom left. 8.5-ish. Has a few dings along the spine, top and bottom. 8.5/9.0. Front looks nice but has some light signs of handling at the back which the scanner would not pick up. 8.5/9.0. Mild spine stress. Has a light 1.5" line impression at the back. 7.0. Has spine stress and light dings on front and back cover. $150 shipped for all 6 books. PM me if interested. Thanks!

  14. This is not meant to be a sales thread and I'm sure many of you have similar or much better collections as I've seen some big books being sold here. Sometimes things are what they say they are. I've seen recent sales of GSX#1, 9.8 on CL end for $7k and yet the last sale on GPA is $4500. As a seller, I'd like to think 9.8's are worth $7k but I'm sure the dealer is going come back to me with $4500 + a bulk discount. The averages can be skewed by extreme prices so I just thought I'd get some objective opinions so that I can feel more confident about what's fair. Selling individually would definitely yield more but obviously it's more work. Time is important so it's one of the things I have to weigh out. Thanks so much for those who've offered advice. Very much appreciate the community spirit
  15. GPA is one perspective but as many have pointed out, it's not absolute since the averages can be interpreted differently. Wide ranging results mean that seller/buyer bias can kick in. As well, the data for the less frequently traded books is incomplete. Base on my own take, including other sources such as CL, I'm thinking about $140k-ish. I may have a potential buyer. Just thought I'd try and solicit some opinions. Maybe it's a bit much to ask... but would love an objective point view. Thanks!
  16. Can I ask for some help appraising my collection? I realize it's a bit of work but I would really appreciate your expert opinion, especially since FMV can vary so much depending on your source/perspective. I just need a rough estimate as I'm thinking about letting everything go. I keep arriving at about $140k but this may be just wishful thinking on my part. Also, if I decided to offer up the collection for sale, what do you think would be a fair or realistic discount if a buyer took all the bad along with the good. 17. Nobody specifically - more generality in nature. I've heard it mentioned numerous times over the years but to be specific VGer7 said in his Con write up he noticed more people flocked to his booth when he brought in the higher end slabs as eye candy. It sounds like he sold a couple but most were there casual buyer's viewing pleasure. I had 3 Hulk#181's, all signed at the very top of my racks. I worried that I was taking up precious space but it attracted lots of “gawkers” who were pointing and talking about it among themselves. The Hulk#181 has an iconic status and even the casual attendee seems to know about it. This open the door for a quick conversation and many hung around long enough to see what else I had and picked up a $10 trade or a cheap comic. If they seemed interested in something but looked unsure about the purchase... I would quickly offer a discount before they could put the item back down on the table. In away, I guess the Hulk#181 were museum pieces... but it drew the guests into the gift shop. I have enough merchandise left over for one more FanExpo but I'm not sure that I would set up again with just comics alone...
  18. By the way - thanks for linking your write up. I especially liked your comment about comics not being enough any more and half your sales came from other items. Based on those numbers you would have had a disappointing sales day without the other items in the mix. You also said your took pretty much any offer above your cost and you sold $2,150 in books over 4 days (half of your total since the rest was toys/key chains)? I'm not sure of what type of books you bought but if you had IH 181 for the back wall I assume you had some good stuff so I'm kind of shocked you did not sell more considering your stance on taking pretty much any offer. Regardless - it was a good read. Thanks. I had the usual keys... I sold my ASM#129 and a GA Flash Comics off the back wall. I almost sold my Av#1 but the guest never came back. No bites on the Hulk#181, not even a nibble... although some guy texted me about it a few days after the show asking for my best price. I quote him GPA... to which he replied, “I don't mean to low ball you but...". He low balled anyways. The problem is, most people who buy premium books would know to go directly to the source. As a reseller, I'll have to wait for my Hulk#181's to appreciate enough so that I can afford to offer it up at a more attractive price. Not to mention, lots of sellers but simply not enough buyers to accommodate all the vendors at the show.
  19. No need to escalate the situation... I think the guest just didn't realize that he was stepping on any ones toes. The vendor reacted and the guest responded in kind. Many guests are used to bringing their books to shows and selling them to vendors, especially since many vendors advertise that they are buying. I'll let the guest know the proper etiquette to selling the next time I see him. Rob, it's your show but I think banning guests from bringing books would not be good for the show. After all, it is a market place and your flyer does read: Buy, sell and trade. Instead, I would encourage more activity cause it would be great if someone walked in and offered me their collection We just need to educate novice sellers the proper etiquette. I'm still learning myself...
