Picked this up at the flea market yesterday. It is a free monthly magazine with the goings on in the local antique world. Also auction results nationally on a variety of antiques. The cover just screamed out at me. I just had to know. Interesting article but what was of biggest interest to me was the full page article on PCH books. I have never heard of this collector or this auction house. Apparently, this auction happened beginning of Jan.
Frankly, I never like seeing articles like this in the hands of “civilians”. Gives everyone the wrong idea. Sure makes it tougher on us flea market scroungers…
Anybody here ever visit this library? Looks like the Sistine Chapel of comics.

Not familiar with this mag, but some of the "regional" or "rural" women's/farmer's mags are really well done and full of fiction. This cover is really playful
Me neither. Just liked the cover and price. How often does one find cool magazines this old? The lady had a bunch of 1930’s movie mags as well. All photo covers of pretty much unknown stars. Thought about them but I just didn’t know what I would do with them.

Got this one in today. Down to 3 left. Buy them when you find them. Overstreet lists as scarce and I concur. Can’t remember seeing a copy for sale in many years. Maybe in one of the big auction companies, but I rarely look there. Someone found a few coverless ones that got snatched up quick. This is the type of book I go to conventions for but never see.
And what a cover. Dare I say “classic”? I know Feldstein did very few romance covers. But some incredible ones. I won’t post in the Romance thread as I don’t want to make all those Atlas covers look bad…

Yeah, I got him to sign at at the Hot Rod Hootenanny at the Moon Records parking lot show. My buddy got an old toilet seat painted with a Rat Fink airbrushed treatment.

Oh wow! That Standard Plastics Products Davey carrying case is wild cool and highly coveted by Weird-Ohs enthusiasts (including myself).
Only one I've ever seen.

Was just thinking of my short stint as a legal secretary in Athens, GA, the other day when a pal shared some typewriter rhythms. A friend and I were the only men (boys, lol) in the secretarial pool which is the only aspect of that job I remember with any fondness. Talk about *evil,* I've never been around another occupation so corrupt, and that's saying something. No offense to our fine lawyers here
I'd welcome any more secretary covers...
Not a PB but this is a classic subtile comic cover...

I plan to attend although haven’t bought my ticket yet.
I agree about updating their website. I will go either way but sure would like to know what dealers will be attending. You know, they know by now. Just added incentive for those on the fence. WonderCon was just as bad. No list until a week or so before the show.
A couple years ago, Torpedo pulled the plug on their show. They said it was a “schedule conflict” but I suspect it might have been due to lack of pre show ticket purchases. I believe a lot of folks were waiting to see the dealer lineup. It is, primarily a vintage comic buying show. I would sure like to give my money to CGC at the show for some grading as well!
So, that being said, I will put my money where my mouth is and buy my ticket this weekend.
