  1. Wow, just awsome photo! (yes I’m an EC guy). I can’t even imagine walking into that store...
  2. Probably my favorite Superman cover. Here is mine. I got it on ebay many years ago. It has very tiny bug holes that go all the way through it. It came from Hawaii from a lady who found a small pile of WWII era comics in an old service man's trunk. I wonder why more old comics don't come out of there considering how many US servicemen were stationed there in the war. Here is also a picture of a WWII era PX store on Ohau where my copy might have come from...
  3. Ha, ha, ha... Yes it is! My grandmother bought it for me when I was about 12. She was an antique hunter and I was the only grandchild who would go with her on her "jaunts". She paid a dollar for it. A lot of money for a comic in those days. We were at a swap meet and there it was all by it's self just laying on the ground. I had never seen a comic that old. I had no idea of the significance of it until many years later. A wonderful lady who saw my passion for comics and reading. She spoiled me a bit and rarely said no. I guess she is where I got the collecting bug. Still miss her.
  4. Some old photos of current boardies from the magazine. I doubt any would mind because they were published in CBM anyway. These were all SDCC shots from an article on the 1997 SDCC. Even though I was at all these shows, it was always fun to see dealer shots and reviews on the con. A few of them have sadly passed on to the great comic con in the sky...
  5. Jon made a purchase from me recently. First rate boardie and buyer. Paid quickly with friendly and quick communication. Great follow up as well. Everything you want when selling here. Thanks Jon!
  6. Antique store find today... Original 1963 Aurora Mummy Nicely done!
  7. You’re killing me here Steve. I doubt many know how hard it is to find the early ones. I had ‘em all once but sold off most of them. A feat I just don’t need to repeat.
  8. True. Very few paper mills make newsprint any more. What they do make goes to newspapers. Even the “throw away” circulars aren’t printed on newsprint any more. The paper industry is hurting bad now.
  9. You’re talking to Pablo... He just won’t be able to help himself...
  10. Yes he did. It was amazing. I saw Danny’s collection once and I give a slight nod to Gary. Danny had more stuff, but Gary had better stuff. Harry Matesky also had an amazing collection but no comics to speak of. All 3 great guys and very passionate collectors.
  11. Nice score! I saw 'em with my own eyes on Sunday. Lucky for you I was selling not buying that day... It has gotton near impossible for flea market find that kind of stuff anymore...
  12. Two great runs! Not as easy (or cheap) now as when I got mine...
  13. Austrailian Terry Toons Animation Studios bound file copies. (Taken out of binding)
  14. Some Terry Toons Animation Studios bound volume file copies
  15. I can't even imagine what that gas pump and those signs are worth now...
  16. I’m with you. A lot of people are just jealous of Chuckle’s good fortune. At the time the collection was found and marketed, it was always referred to as the Mile High collection. No one really knew about Edgar Church. One look at one of these books and I didn’t care what they were called. You just knew these were probably the best copies on the planet and history has pretty much proven it in general. At this point, I refer to the collection as the Edgar Church/Mile High collection. Edgar should get top billing for having put it together in the first place and Mile High should get second billing for finding and saving these amazing books for us to marvel at for all this time. If not for lucky Chuck, these books may have never made their way into our collections...
