  1. Wow, Captain Battle's legs are facing forward while his torso is turned 90 degrees. Oh, and his left ankle is definitely broken.
  2. Wow, super page! Great dialog and action sequences all packed into a few panels.
  3. Well put. The Joe run from #10 - #40 or so is my sweet spot for nostalgia (#10 being the 1st comic I remember pulling off the shelf and buying), so I'd love to get a cover from that era some day.
  4. Funny, I stopped reading around issue 70 myself. This cover has a pretty dynamic battle scene, and I always loved the water moccasin as a kid so this cover has always been one of my personal favorites.
  5. Zeck G.I. Joe #25 cover sold for a solid price of $21,000. I think it's one of the top 5 covers in the series, but it was too far out of my price range to consider bidding.
  6. Looks like you kept your childhood toys in pretty good condition Machx4. Wish I would have kept all my 70s/80s Star Wars & Joes. I only retained about 10% of those toys, but I'm happy to have at least some of them.
  7. I really like the Arctic Hiss. Great take on a classic vehicle.
  8. Thanks for the comparison info for the two moccasins. I never had the original, but always wanted one. Now I'm thinking of picking up the newer version and putting my original 80s Copperhead figure with it.
  9. Looks like this page sold for $24,200. Pretty decent buy IMO. I know Chewie looks a little wonky, but an impressive page in its entirety.
  10. Impressive display of Spider-man toys with the comics. Really cool idea.
  11. Love the G.I. Joe pics. The Wolverine is still one of the coolest vehicles. Seeing these reminds me I've been meaning to build a Joe display scene to include some of my favorite figures/vehicles.
  12. Really nice page being offered. IMO Better than the page from issue #3 Hakes sold last year for $33,700. Will be fun to see where this one ends up.
  13. I'm most likely attending. I feel it has been a consistently excellent show. Lately, more art dealers set up at c2e2 compared to WW Chicago. Although, I haven't seen the dealer lineup for this year yet. Plus lots of books, toys, artists, etc. Always a good time.
  14. I saw that Joe page at a convention this summer and almost bought it myself. Nice pickup.
  15. Thanks to everyone who has posted pics! Does anyone know if Saul has an online presence? I don't recall ever seeing him at a Midwest show that I would attend.
  16. Anyone following tonight's Hakes auctions? They always have an nice assortment of collectibles. The artwork that stood out to me was the Marvel Star Wars #3 page by Chaykin. It sold for $26,000 + 18% buyers premium.
  17. I remember Comiclink sold a He-man magazine cover by Norem maybe 4 or 5 years ago. It had He-man battling Skeletor in outer space. I think it sold for around $2000 if I remember right.
  18. I have similar thoughts on the modern Transformers. I bought a few to hopefully get my young son involved in transforming them. So, we bought one called Transformers Unite Devastator (I think) for ages 8+. It was way too time consuming to transform it. He has no interest or patience to spend more than 2 minutes on it. The 1980s stuff, I could play and transform them back and forth. It may take 10-15 seconds to transform car to robot for example. When the transformations are so complex &/or time consuming it really can't be part of the play value. So, while I do like the look of the Masterpiece line for example, it would end up being a display piece on the shelf as I would find transforming it to be a chore.
  19. Anyone know what kind of comic dealer presence will be at this show? Dealer websites like High Grade Comics, Metropolis, etc don't mention they will be setting up here. Trying to gauge if it's worth checking this one out. Thanks.
  20. And, never has Spider-man faced such a devastating foe as "Fancy Dan"!
  21. Yeah, lots of the art accumulating on CAF is just nonsense. If there was a separate published and unpublished section, I think that could help make CAF more enjoyable to search.
  22. Man, still no floor plan. I look forward to checking it out prior to the show to remember the booths I'd like to check out.
  23. Pretty cool idea. Must be challenging, but rewarding when you find one.
  24. I think the Sal Sub-mariner cover is a really nice example. Will be interesting to see what it goes for.
