Just like this forum has a blocked list, you could have been placed on some other block list from which people are gathering usernames to block.  And not necessarily for some legit reason, could be maliciously to make your life a bit harder.

I could report a whole bunch on names here, and people might add them to their lists, vetted or not.

If I was a mean-spirited competitor, I could put you on this CGC list, hidden in a bunch of names, to block you from bidding against me on auctions from sellers we both frequent. If that seller grabbed the name and put you on his list.

Well until I hear something back (IF I hear something back), it's by no means the end of the world.  Thanks.

As a long-time eBay seller, I can tell you there are two main reasons why this happened:

    1) You had a transaction at one time with the seller and they, for whatever reason, blocked you

    2) You have eBay unpaid item strikes on your account. I, like many sellers, have my account set up to automatically block bidders/buyers who have 2 or more unpaid item strikes on their account in the last year.

It must be number 1 but I don't know why.  As for unpaid items, that's never ever happened.  I promptly pay after an auction win and or a buy it now.

I've been with eBay since 1997 and have 100% positive feedback. @Mutant Manatee said sellers cannot see messages sent to them by blocked members via the eBay note system.  So earlier, I found an e-mail address for them on FaceBook and sent them a note.  As of this writing, I have not heard anything back.

There is a lot of e-bay buyers who only look at the starting items each day to see if there are deals coming available so they are playing the game that renewing the items each day will get a ton of views for the books.  E-Bay gives so many free listings each month that smaller sellers can use this practice and have very little cost.  People who buy books frequently catch on and avoid those books but there is enough newbies that come around that it makes sense to them.  If I don't have the time to post new books or run auctions then I will close and relist 50 books every now and then throughout the month since it does generate increased views and sales.  E-Bay has become a sea on books so it's tough to not get lost especially if your books are not search worthy.

Gotcha.  Thank you for taking the time to spell it out for me. (thumbsu

  4. Forgive me if this has been covered already but I'm trying to understand the logic behind one particular eBay seller's selling strategy.  The seller in question is called The Comic Miner.  Every single day he/she relists practically their entire inventory.  The prices stay the same.  Furthermore, how would ever know what if anything was new?

Could it be their buyer requirements settings? Maybe in a location they don't ship to? (shrug)

I live in the U.S. in the upper Midwest so I'm not sure.  But thanks!

  6. Has anyone ever done business with eBay seller Imperium Collectibles Marketplace?  I saw an item for sale recently and when I hit the Buy It Now button, I received this message:

The seller isn't accepting bids or offers from you.

I was like what?!?  I can't recall ever making any purchases from them in the past.  Not having a clue as to what this was about, I sent them a note through eBay email asking how/why I got on their banned list.  And then ... crickets.

So I was just wondering if anyone knew or had any dealings with them?

    Thanks!

My shipment received Apr 3rd has still not been opened. I contacted customer support this afternoon and a very helpful representative opened a ticket for this shipment. Hopefully I'll know something in a couple of days.

Same thing just happened to me.  Two shipments scanned in on 4/2.  Neither of which have yet to be opened.  Also spoke to a CS rep and she said she would open a ticket as well.  Goofy thing, the caller just before me had his submission arrive on 4/1 and it hadn't been opened either.  She opened up a ticket for that member as well.

I had a box with a MODERN submission arrive at CGC on Mon Apr 1st and it has not yet been opened. The ones that were opened just ahead of the WonderCon submissions have already been graded and shipped out.

So yeah, I can definitely attest to things being slower right now.

Check out this post.  My mind is blown.

  9. Hey @MattM CS -

Ok, please help me understand this: I sent in a six book MFT order (#CGC1795315525) which was delivered this past Tuesday, 4/9, Scanned in the next day, 4/10, and was just posted in my Submission Tracking this afternoon, 4/11 (Submission #4413679).  CC has been charged.

But what about the two orders from 4/1 which I started this initial thread about?  How did they skipped?

    Thank you!

    Hello CGC,

Can you advise if you have a backlog from Easter weekend? I'm showing my latest 21 book submission was delivered to the front desk, reception, mail room at 4:35pm signed by D. Perez the afternoon of April 1st. I have additional submissions pending that this one is holding up.

    Sub# CGC4031002542

    Tracking# 9407830109355001964840

It is showing received when I enter the tracking number in the search. Will this be opened this week?

    Respectfully,

    Michael

    @CGC Mike

I am in the same boat as you.  Had two submissions in two different packages arrive on 4/1 and were scanned in on 4/2.  Neither have yet to post in my Submission Tracking.

  11. Dear CGC,

I called Customer Service yesterday and spoke with Rachelle.  It was in regards to two orders:

CGC0232503306 - Four books, Fast Track Modern Grading and Imaging (no pressing).

CGC3293975369 - One slab to be Reholdered with imaging.

Each order was sent in separate boxes.  Both packages were delivered to your facility on 4/1 and scanned in the very next day, 4/2.  As of this writing, neither are in my Submission Tracking.  In speaking with Rachelle she didn't think receiving was that far behind in opening mail.  So I'm just wondering what the delay is.  Spring Break?  Easter?  Wondercon submissions?  The Eclipse?

    Thank you.

    Updates:

1st Submission - Fast Track Grading and Imaging.  Currently at G/GC as of this writing, 4/1 (or since last Thursday, 3/28).  Called CS today and was told slabs were on their way to Imaging.  Note, Imaging is now Tier plus 2 days per Fee and Grading chart.

2nd Submission - Fast Track Pressing, Grading and Imaging.  CCS In Process did not begin until 3/27. Submission still at this status as of 4/1.

  13. Dear CGC,

I have a Fast Track Submission, Submission # 4400470, which shows up in my Submission Tracking as having been received on 3/15/24.  The submission was for both pressing and grading.  Per the documented current turnaround time page, the estimated TAT for Fast Track Pressing is 8 days.  As of this writing, the current status is the same as it was back on 3/15, "Received at CCS."  Based on the estimates, I would have thought by now, the status for the submission in question would be SFG or G/E/I.  But like I said, pressing hasn't even begun.  Next Monday, 4/1, it will definitely be past the estimated 8 day TAT for Fast Track Pressing.

All that said, is my submission lost or is there some reason for the delay?  I mean c'mon, it's just 4 books.

    Thank you.
