  1. No problem! There's some cool books available. We split this one up a little more. We had the preview from the 22nd to yesterday then the bidding portion from the 31st to the 8th.
  2. The Next auction is officially open for bidding! Hopefully there's a few books you guys like in there. I highlighted a few of my favorites. Auction Close is December 8th. If anyone needs help getting there account set up let me know! There's also some super rare/high grade GA books graded by the other guys I couldn't share. https://goldin.co/buy?view=list&number_of_lots=24&page=1&Category=Comics
  3. Hi All. Our next Comic Video game and TCG auction is starting shortly on November 20th. We have a large selection of Goldin age through modern available to bid on, the auction will be up and running on our new and improved website shortly! This auction is going to have much more affordable lots while maintaining the high level of quality that Goldin is known for. We also are rolling out a new referral program! For anyone who connects us to a new successful consigner 1% of hammer price of the consigned lots will be given to you. All you need to do is make the connection! If anyone is interested in this program please feel free to reach out to me! Were looking for premium consignments for our Jan/Feb 2022 Premium Elite auction. There will be a much higher overall value in the auction with it more closely replicating our last auction with the 8.0 Batman 1. Thanks so much - Dom
  4. As far as im aware Its an all or nothing deal with emails at the moment. Im very sorry about that. But I did put in an internal request that we should have the option to send emails to people based on the different categories they are interested in. - Dom
  5. We have not done so in the past. Most likely that wont change for this auction. But we are evolving and listening to feedback. Im all for giving people a heads up. But until we're on our new platform our auction dates and deadlines are more going to be more fluid then most other auction houses. So management might see it as more trouble than its worth sending out an email blast with information and lots that are subject to change. Also by not doing a long preview, it also allows us to take items right up to the day before auction start. As I said though I expect pretty much all that to change later this year. But for right now thats how it is.
  6. From a number of books it will be much bigger. But for this next auction the overall $ amount per lot will be much lower. We want people to be able to get in at all levels from $1000 to $1000000. I can't claim to have sold books in high school. But I was close!
  7. Our current platform only lets us have one auction up at a time. It doesn't even let us have multiple auctions even if one is just a preview. But as I said this will change later this year.
  8. Its due to platform limitations, Nothing else. Thanks, It is planned. Believe me I like the long previews, Im on the same side as you. Its just limiting on our current platform. But that will change by the end of the year when we migrate.
  9. The next auction will be mid November. There will be a preview the day before the auction opens. - Dom
  10. If I came off as dismissive of anyones experience that was not my intention. My apologies. I don't believe anyone ever asked for details regarding my qualifications. Sorry if I missed any questions direct at me. But Im an open book, ask me anything you like.
  11. I guess being young and hungry doesn't count for as much as I thought then! Oh well. Im going to do the best I can with what I have. I never claimed to have as much experience as most of you guys. But inexperienced is hardly a word I would use to describe myself. At the end of the day I made it though a very rigorous hiring process. Goldin is not the kind of company thats just going to hire anyone off the street for this job. They believe in what I can bring to the table as much as I do.
  12. If you could add Goldin Auction to the list as well that would be great! We just finished our first of many comic auctions with a focus on big SA keys. https://goldinauctions.com/auctionresults.aspx
  13. 23% is if you pay by credit card. Its 20% if you pay by any other form of payment.
  14. Sure, and lot of the auctions are multiple days already. But its the way Goldin has been running since 2014. All the card guys are used to bidding on 20-30-40-50 lots and keeping an eye on them. Overall its generated record after record sale. Im not saying its the best way. But it works pretty good and im sure all the new registers will adjust fast. That doesn't really tell the whole story though. Sure batman 1 only got 15 bids but It also started at 250K. 50 of the bids on CC are ones from when it started at 1$ not to mention that the increments on CC are TINY. For lots over 1 million CC increments are 25k. Ours are 100K so every bid placed on Goldin is worth 4X what one CC bid is worth. This also helps with the 30 minute reset, each bid on Goldin gets you to the final bid much faster.
  15. Video games were more of a mixed bag. There were still a lot of record breaking sales for many different games and platforms. But there was a handful of items that I think will look like very good buys in the future.
  16. Robust is an understatement. You have to physically prove you can pay for whatever invoice you want to generate.
  17. Correct, But when a bid is placed in the last 30 minute the timer resets. So stuff normally doesn't end at EXACTLY the same time. Well, not really. With the larger auctions 2500 lots or so, or even 1000 lots. If they were all staggered 30 seconds the auction would be waaaaay too long. I Don't think anyone has the attention span to sit at a computer for 10-20 hours if your interested in one lot every 100 or so.
  18. Its a carryover from the Card auctions. Normally they are 1000+ lots and There is quite literally not enough time to Bid on everything you want in 3 minuets or even 10 minutes. The pre bid to qualify is so that any item you are seriously interested in shows up on your page with bids. Its a lot easier to track items you have bid on vs ones on your watch list. They system is really set up for auction with many many more lots. I realize its overkill for an auction like the one last night. We have been working on a 100% Ground up platform that will launch later this year. It should be a little easier to use.
  19. 30 minuets. Timer resets every time a new bid is placed.
  20. Thanks Larry! Its always a pleasure to meet up with like minded guys.
  21. As I said it was an oversight on my part and I really am very sorry I missed this thread. When the auction went live I did make a post in the business promo section. The past month has been the busiest of my life prepping this first auction and getting ready for the next. It is not a simple process to build out 3 totally new sectors at the same time. You should work with me because I am going to be the most available and easy to deal with consignment director you have ever used. I'm going to get you the absolute best rates I can, and were going to market the you know what out of your books to our existing bidder base that spends over 300 million dollars a year (and counting) with us.
  22. It is 20% in addition to the current bid. I apologize for not explaining that clearly. We are working on a few platform currently where that will be a feature from my understanding. But you are right it is not currently shown in the hid. But yes 20% on top of the current bid.
  23. Oh no, I have been on the boards since 2015 and lurking long before that. At one point I was a fairly active member. This is my original account and my profile pic is my old Silver Streak 6. Although I will admit my activity on the boards recently has been almost none. As I said it before missing this thread was an oversight on my part. I Should have checked the Golden age thread as soon as I started. I should have known you guys would have had a thread on the auction. So I apologize leaving you guys in the dark for so long. - Dom
  24. Hi All, Sorry it Took me so long to show up here in the thread, I am the Consignment director for Goldin auctions handing Comic book consignments. I have been with Goldin for just over a month and we have been working very very hard to make this first auction go smoothly. As for many of the concerns please let me alleviate them. For those of you who don't know me my name is Dominic DiAntonio. I have been buying and selling comics since 2013. Goldin brought me on to help build out the Comic and Video game Space. I realize things were not handled very well in the beginning. With Goldin being a card auction house mainly there were a few missed opportunities with people who came to us with comics. However im going to do my absolute best to fix that. I have been given more freedom than pretty much anyone in the building to made deals and get Comic consignments. As for us not budging on commission rates. Here is the BASE deal I am offering to anyone who comes to us with comics. We have a 20% BP like heritage. On comics we run a -10% rate. Meaning if a book hammers for $1000 we charge the buyer $1200 and you get $1100. The more you consign the better we can do. Advances up to 50% on FMV for consignments over $25,000 to start. I am available 7 days a week and am 100% focused on giving you the best auction experience possible from both a buying and selling standpoint. We have a very Premium bidder base. The majority of our bidders are card collectors who are looking for other assets to buy. Comics were one of the most requested items that we start to offer by those bidders. We are anticipating some very strong sales tomorrow when our auction ends. If anyone wants to bid tomorrow please make an account and email me your username, first and last name. We have a 10K limit for new registers I have to raise. If you do not get your limit raised you cannot bid on pretty much anything with the 10K Cap. If anyone has any questions feel free to reach out here or to my email at dom@goldinauctions.com I will be available from now on to you guys. I Apologize for not seeing the thread sooner. That was an oversight on my part and I did not see it when I started a month or so ago. I posted in the Business promotion section but im guessing not many if any of you saw it. Many thanks - Dom
