  1. Hi, I’ve wanted this for a while, ideally with the pinup, and don’t have a huge budget. I managed to get this for £90, and have now spotted a couple of things which were not obviously apparent from the pictures or description. There are a couple of small tears on the pages and back cover, which I new about, but it’s the pin up I’m more concerned about. It has staple holes next to the staples, so it’s either come from another book, or became detached in the past and has had a poor attempt at reattaching it. It also appears to have been trimmed on one side due to the misaligned attachment, and it’s detached at the bottom staple. I just wanted some opinions of whether or not I paid around the right price. Apologies for the picture quality, I don’t have a scanner.
  2. I think it would make sense for her first solo should be a prequel to the Sucide Squad, maybe something along the lines of the Batman: Harley Quinn GN... A lot of people who are HQ fans on the back of the Suicide Squad film probably have no idea about her origin.
  3. Did anyone read the new Deathstroke Rebirth? I'm not great at reviews, but I felt it was on par with Wolfmans original version of Deathstroke, far better than the pants that was churned out it in the last 2 series. I think Priest has done well, and I have high hope for this series
  4. I have only been reading comics for the past year, so I don't know too much about the characters. But for me, I felt that the Joker/Harley relationship was too even, I always got the impression in the comics that Harley is more obsessed and love struck, and Joker just uses and abuses her... I get the PG13, but it didn't seem right. There are stories online that there were scenes that reflected this, but they were cut. I thought the CGI was a little pants, especially at certain points with Enchantress, as well as the voice over. I will have to watch it again though, as I think some of my views on the film are based on a slight disappointment that...
  5. Just saw this on Instagram... Looks amazing...
  6. Anyone have any idea of any Adam Driver UK appearances? Or even a website that I can keep an eye on which may have details. Thanks.
  7. I feel its got to the stage in this thread, where by posting something on topic, is actually posting something off topic. Anyway, DC Universe Rebirth is obviously heating up a little on eBay, around £10 a pop, which is crazy considering it can still be purchased at cover price in most comic shops.
  8. Was really please with the Mary Poppins, loved it as a child, this is the only Super Mag copy I have seen. Not happy with the Deathstroke, was in great condition when I purchased it, received it this morning from Spain, in a lightly padded envelope, the comic wasn't even bagged or boarded. Shame, as it's hard to find in high grade as it is, and now there is one less in circulation. Apparently the seller can't see any damage, but I will be pushing for a refund. [update: Have been offered a full refund, they blamed it on the UK postal service, and have asked I return it in well protected packaging ]
  9. Or you could just submit an already signed book and hope for a blue lable Original Listing
  10. I have noticed that other grading companies add 'Newstand Copy' or something similar to the label. I think if the CGC adopt this in the future, and maybe applys it to the census, it would definitely drive up the demand for newsstands post 1980 or so when their numbers started falling. Certain collectors would much rather own a 9.8 newsstand which is 1 of 150 on the census, as apposed to owning a 9.8 direct which is 1 of 1000.
  11. Top right corner of the battered copy has a yellow circle with nothing in. The second scan just has the flames with no obstruction.
  12. I would love to have one graded that my kid coloured in, so if I submit via a comic store, would I just ask him to add notes to say who coloured it in? Is there a section for notes on the submission slip?
  13. Nothing spectacular, but something I have been searching for for months, I just love the cover Deathstroke #2 Bart Sears Variant.
  14. I don't know if I am being stupid or not, but is someone able to explain how Zoom killed his time remnant and remained alive?
  15. It's rubbish being in the UK with things like this, it's $20 to buy, but then $35 for shipping... Plus a chance at $20 import fees... So it actually works out cheaper being ripped off on eBay.
  16. I'm new to comics, but the 2 stand out artists that I have noticed (Aside from Alex Ross who I think is great) so far are Dell Otto and Sorrentino. I loved the Dell Otto B&W Version of the DKIII Bulletproof Exclusive. Unfortunately neither work on the comics that I collect , although Sorrentino did do a 1:25 Deathstroke #1 Cover which I loved.
  17. MileHigh has the ratio as below, don't know how accurate it is, they also charge more for news stands. I imagine these are US figures only. Year % Newsstand %Direct 1979 94% 6% 1982 80% 20% 1986 50% 50% 1990 15% 85% 1995 10% 90% 2000 5% 95% 2005 2% 98% 2013 1% 99% I had some same issue comics both high grade, and priced my newsstands a few pound higher, and the directs sold, the newsstands didn't, or took longer to sell, people are either not aware of the difference, or aren't really bothered, they just go for the highest grade for the cheapest price whatever the version. Don't know if that will ever change in the future.
  18. I got this back from the CGC not so long ago, was really happy with the grade, as there are only 7 or 8 Canadian 9.8's on the census, then realised it was labled wrong, and therefore its probably not so rare after all
  19. My first ever submissions came back today, a bit gutted about the BA16 newsstand, as it has no spine ticks, is extremely sharp, I have since noticed a very tiny non colour breaking ding on the spine, so that helps explain it, but it still presents nice, maybe there are also some small marks that I haven't seen or something. Very pleased with my TotTT44 Canadian news stand, only 8 on the census.
  20. I use Ribba frames, they're slightly deeper for if you still want to keep them in Mylar.
  21. True, I just liked the UK one purely because I live here, and it's White, unlike all the others which are almost identical to the US edition, also, it doesn't appear too often.
  22. Not as fancy as a lot of yours, but I bought this last week, and received it this week. Not the best condition, and I probably over paid, but didn't even know this edition existed, and haven't seen one available anywhere since.
